I'm an employee at the Clark Memorial Library at Shawnee state University so you may think that I'm trying to promote them (which I am slightly) but that's not it! The library is a great place on campus that more people need to utilize. There are many things that we can do for you here! Here are the top 5:

1. BOOKS!

This one may seem obvious you can come here and get books! We have an OhioLink program which allows us to borrow books from others schools to check out to our students. Many times you can fined your textbooks through OhioLink. We also have fun books such as Harry Potter, Game Of Thrones, etc...

2. Helpful Staff!

Not to brag but here at Shawnee we have a very helpful and friendly staff! We have librarians who can assist you with research in certain topics, we have student employees who can get you on the right track of finding information on what you need or we can just help you find books! We're always ready to help!

3. Comfortable and Quiet Study Spaces!

Are your room mates too loud, do you get too tempted by TV or computers when you study at home? Come to the library on all floors we have study rooms where you can go have a private space to study with a group or by yourself, on the third floor we have a quiet study area there are no computers, just quiet space so you can concentrate.

4. Computers, Laptops and WiFi!

If you live on campus you may know how bad the WiFi can be sometimes. Also some students in college may not have their own computers or laptops. Here at the library we have desktops computers that students can use and we can also check you out a laptop if you would prefer that! Just come to The service desk and bring your student ID!

5. Information Technology Services (ITS)

ITS is located in the basement of the library. ITS can help with log in problems computer connectivity problems, etc.. they also have a very helpful staff!

6. The Children's Materials Center (CMC)

If you are an education major like me the CMC will be your life. The CMC is also located in the basement of the library. The CMC has children's books, a laminator and elision machine and a graphic lab with poster board markers and other various things that you may need for projects. We also have free copying for education majors you just have to get the code from your professor.

7. The Writing Center

The writing canter helps students writing papers for their classes, they help you edit and revise your papers which is a helpful tool for students to have access to. The Writing Center is also located in the basement of the library.

So next time you need to study or get free time and just want to check us out come visit us in the library we have all these helpful things and more. Never be embarrassed to ask us questions we are always here to help you!

(During Finals week we even bring in Digit the therapy dog to help relieve stress!)

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
