7 Reasons To Visit Julian, California

Right in the middle of the mountains in San Diego County, Julian is a small and charming little town, home to great views, great pie, and lots of horses. With the green scenery and tons of good vibes, Julian is the perfect place to be. Here are 7 of the many, many reasons to visit Julian, California.

1. Everywhere you look, no matter the angle is a gorgeous view.

In the summer, you have crisp blue skies and sunny days, and in the winter, you may even see some snow. And don't forget about the many, many trees. You can see them for miles, and the green makes for a stunning view no matter where you look.

2. At night, the sky is always insanely clear and breathtaking, especially to us city folk.

The Dark Sky is by far my favorite part about visiting this place. The sky is so clear that you can see every star and every constellation. It’s such a beautiful sight, and it’s a real treat, especially when visiting from the not-so-clear city skies.

3. If you listen very carefully, you can hear complete silence, and it is so peaceful.

You know when you can actually feel silence? When it's so quiet that you feel it come over you? That's the kind of quiet you'll experience in Julian. How wonderful it is to take a moment to relax in peace and quiet.

4. Pie is always the go-to dessert of choice, for good reason.

Okay, let's get real. The pie is by far the best part about Julian. Now, you just have to choose between Julian Pie Co. Or Mom's (p.s, I prefer the caramel Apple Dutch from Julian Pie Co…).

5. Horses are literally everywhere and it’s completely normal.

Horses are a normalcy in Julian. You can see wild ones roaming around on the hills or the many ones on local properties. There’s even some walking down the streets in mid the le of town!

6. Every person you meet is friendly and welcoming.

Small town and country folk are a lot different that city folk. They’re a lot nicer. It really is a breath of fresh air.

7. Coming from the city, everything about Julian is such a breath of fresh air. Literally.

Speaking of fresh air, Julian’s got a bunch of it, literally and figuratively. The quiet, relaxing environment that this small town provides is just what you need to recharge.

Whether you're looking for a quick day trip or a full summer vacation, Julian should definitely be a strong consideration. With it's beautiful scenery, wonderful food, and friendly environment, it's the perfect place for families, friends, and loved ones to enjoy their time together with some fresh air and apple pie.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
