7 Reasons To Go To Robert Morris University
Reddit

Since my freshman year of high school, I always wanted to go to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Now after a few weeks of college under my belt, I can wholeheartedly say that I am so thankful I didn’t get in.

At first, I was embarrassed and of course completely distraught that my dream school didn’t accept me. The plan in my life was to go there to major in psychology and then proceed to their law school. I couldn’t believe that the way my life was turning out was not what I wanted. I had already decided to go to UNC before the letter even arrived, so I didn’t know what to do. It through me for a loop. I had to completely rethink my entire future.

It was already January, and I was restarting. I had already been accepted into Robert Morris University and was waiting on a letter from Virginia Tech. In the end, I chose Robert Morris University because it was more affordable and closer to home. Now that you know my back story here are seven reasons you should attend Robert Morris University.

1. The Beautiful Campus

Okay, so when I first came here to tour, I was not impressed. Now when I walk around campus though, I am amazed by the beauty of it. The trees are now changing into beautiful fall colors. Flowers are still in bloom, and I cannot wait to see the campus on a frosty winter day.

2. The Awesome People

Maybe I’m a little biased, but I have met some of the greatest people. It’s only week four. I was worried I may not make friends but everything just happened so naturally. There are people here for you, no matter what your interest is. In only four short weeks, I have made incredible friends that have my back whenever I need them.

3. The Clubs and Organizations

Robert Morris offers 130 clubs and organizations, so if there’s something you want to do I’m willing to bet there’s a club for it. If there’s not a club for it, you can make one with a small group of friends. It’s incredible how easy they actually make it for you to get something you want on campus. Take advantage of that!

4. The Academic Standing

RMU has amazing academics. The professors are also fantastic! In high school, I was always told professors simply would not care. I have not found that to be true here. I actually even more so realize that you have a life, and if you are struggling, they offer help. Do not hesitate to ask questions, they actually love it.

5. Connections

This school has so many connections. If you need anything, they have the connections. Moon Township has so many large companies that it’s a huge place to get internships. Pittsburgh is also just 25 minutes away, so there’s always that option. Scholarships are made available for you fairly easily. Just make sure to ask!

6. BOBBYMANIA

So just recently I experienced my first Bobbymania, and let me tell you, it was fantastic! They give away free t-shirts, but you need to make sure you’re there early because the line gets very long. Bobbymania has blow-up items like obstacle courses, life-size foosball, bull riding, and surfing! Who wouldn’t want to do that? There’s a bunch of food too. If you don’t do a single thing that I say on here if you come, at least do this. You will not regret it!

7. Easily Avoidable Freshman 15

I know, I know, this is scary. The food is great here, so I could see how it would pack on quickly, but there’s so many hills here that you don’t even have to think about it too much. If you don’t think the hills are enough though, a new gym has just been built with a ton of new equipment. I definitely recommend trying out the karate class too because I did, and I absolutely have fallen in love with it. In the end, don’t worry about the freshman fifteen.

If all of this hasn’t convinced you to come to RMU, then I don’t know what planet you’re on. Seriously, come visit! It’s a great campus.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.
