Not everyone is blessed to call at least one man a brother, and sometimes those who don't have a brother wish they did. Those who do have a brother, whether older or younger, are truly blessed by the friendship that brothers bring. Here are some reasons why brothers are the most important man in your life.

1. You will always have someone who will defend you.

No matter what happens, your brother will always be the first one to back you up and protect your reputation. Your brother sees your flaws, yet loves you unconditionally and will stand by that until the day you die.

2. He is the first to tell you that a guy is not good enough for you.

No matter the age, males have a protective instinct, and when it comes to their sister, that instinct seems to be stronger. Brothers will always be the first to let you know that any particular guy is wrong for you. So, boys, if you are dating or married to a girl who has a brother, consider yourself lucky.

3. He is the best secret keeper.

He is always the first one to know about the boy you have a crush on and the first to hear about your mistakes. He swears to keep the secrets and stands by that promise.

4. He makes you laugh.

Brothers are annoying; it's just how siblings work. However, your brother always knows exactly what to say to crack you up. On the worst days, he will always be the one to make some lame joke to keep your mind off things.

5. He is your biggest fan.

No matter what you do, your brother will be there to support you and cheer you on. Whether you are the worst on the volleyball team, or the best singer in the choir, your brother will be your biggest fan and will brag about you through it all.

6. He'll encourage you when you feel down on yourself.

When the next boy stops talking to you or breaks up with you, your brother will be the one in your room with the Kleenex and a speech about why you truly are the worthy of a guy who cares.

7. You will always have a best friend.

Brothers are a blessing from the Lord and no matter what you go through, your brother will forever be your best friend. The day you get married, you know that your brother will have a difficult time letting go of his best friend to another guy, yet he will know that he will always be your best friend first.
