There are so many places to travel to during the summer, but there's one spot that is incomparable to any other. That place is Lake George, New York. It's a lake that sits nestled in the Adirondacks that is approximately 32 miles long. There are so many beautiful places to stay on the lake and the most beautiful time to visit is during the summer months. It's beautiful all year round, but if you want to feel the warm sun beating down on you while enjoying a beautiful sight-seeing boat ride, then you should visit anytime from June to September. Here are some of the reasons why it's the best:

1. It's been coined "The Queen of American Lakes" by Thomas Jefferson.

It quite literally was nicknamed the Queen. It's known for the majestic mountains that border the lake and keep it hidden. The water is some of the purest you'll find in America and it's wildlife is flourishing

2. Glen Island, a.k.a. Candy Island.

There's nothing better than hopping in your boat and traveling just a short distance to buy a coffee in the morning or a cold treat for dessert after lunch. You can purchase anything and everything at the little store; ice cream, candy, and coffee are just a few of the many things they offer. The friendly staff make it that much better. There's also a beautiful campground and ranger station located on the island.

3. Parasailing and jet ski rentals are available.

There's so many different activities you can partake in on the lake. Parasailing across the lake is an unforgettable activity as you can see for miles when you're high above the lake. The views are incredible.

4. The history is extensive.

The history behind the lake is so interesting and involves so many of our founding fathers and leaders of this country.

5. You can tour the lake on a cruise ship of your choice.

They have a number of cruises that tour the lake; these include the Horicon, the Adirondack, the Minni Ha Ha, the Mohican, and the Lac Du Saint Sacrement. They are all wonderful and you can catch these on the lake multiple times a day usually packed with tourists. If you drive by in your boat you might even get a honk from the captain.

6. Lake George Village is the center of activity.

The nightlife of Lake George Village is buzzing with people, bars, arcades, ice cream shops, families, and souvenir shops. If you're looking for a night to walk around in the warm summer air and be around people, this would be the place to go.

7. The sun sets and sun rises are out of a magazine.

The view you get of the sun rises and sun sets is amazing and incredible to watch.

Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
