College is full of new experiences. At a time when you're away from your parents, navigating a new place and new people, the people you become friends with in college become so important. These friends you make in college are unique in that they might be from a different place or have a different background in life, but they make college all the more special, and often, you grow closer to them then you ever thought you would.

1. Long hours in the library wouldn't be the same without your friends by your side.

There's just something about sitting in the dark space of the library for hours with your friends that is bound to bond you all closer together.

2. You now have access to multiple closets.

Sharing is caring. Sharing is also much easier now that your best friends' closets are right down the hall from you.

3. Your college friends really do double as your personal therapist.

Some days, college can really get the best of you. Whether it's a bad grade, relationship problems or just a rough day, you can always count on your bestie to offer up their dorm room as a therapy office.

4. They can also double as your parent away from home.

Sometimes we aren't always the most responsible when we are away from our parents telling us what to do. Thankfully your friends are looking out for you helping take care of you, just as you are for them.

5. They are always down for whatever, no matter what.

Beach trip? Shopping spree? Netflix all day? For some reason, college students have a wealth of free time on their hands. This comes in handy because your college friends will always be down to hang out and take on crazy adventures with you.

6. You now have places to travel to when you come home from college.

Chances are some of the friends you've met in college aren't from the same place as you. This comes in handy when you're back home from college and need an excuse to leave your hometown and visit somewhere else.

7. They are the greatest support system you could ask for.

Because college comes with its share of ups and downs, you need people who will be there for you no matter what, and encourage you to grow as a person. Your college friends are so important because they are with you for times when you are learning who you are and what you want to do with your life, and if they're the great friends you hope for, they will support you and help you navigate through the crazy world that is college.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
