7 Reasons Why Everyone Needs A Friend Like Phoebe Buffay

If you have ever watched the show "Friends," you know that Phoebe Buffay is super out-there, crazy, quirky, fun, and lovable. She makes for an amazing friend that always has her friends' backs. Her personality is so unique, yet attractive. Anyone would be lucky to have a friend like Phoebe and I believe that everyone should have a friend like Phoebe. Reasons why:

1. She's honest to a fault.

A friend like Phoebe will always tell you the truth. She will never sugar coat things or give you fake excuses as to why she can't make it to certain events. It can seem harsh sometimes or maybe just a little rude. But would you rather have a friend that lies to you to make you feel better or someone that will tell you like it is? The good news is that if she does commit to plans with you, you know that she really wants to. If she didn't want to, she definitely would let you know.

2. She isn't afraid to tell you when you're being crazy.

This falls under being honest to a fault, but Phoebe won't put up with craziness. She will tell you if you're being a micro-manager, or a clean freak, or if you have an attitude. The funny thing is that she combats crazy with crazy. She will lose it on you and then you will be so taken aback by her outburst that you forget why you were acting crazy in the first place.

3. She believes in true love.

Phoebe can recognize when two people love each other, even when they might not see it themselves. In one episode Phoebe claimed that lobsters mate for life and two of her best friends (Rachel and Ross) were each other's Lobster. Having friends that believe in your relationships is really important. It's nice to have someone there that can see an obvious connection between you and another. Often others can see when someone will treat you right (or wrong) before you do. It's comforting that someone wants you to be with your true love.

4. She's very confident with her sexuality.

Phoebe is never ashamed of her sexual explorations and she won't allow anyone to shame her. She knows what she wants and likes and she isn't afraid to own it. It's good to have friends like this because they won't ever judge you for things you want to try or things that you have/ haven't done. She admits in one episode that she uses handcuffs to chain her boyfriend to a pipe. Did she stutter? Absolutely not.

5. She's confident in general.

Phoebe won't let anyone make her feel bad about herself and she won't change for anybody. Surrounding yourself with confident people is an amazing thing. You begin to draw from their confidence because you admire them. People like Phoebe build you up and help you succeed because they care and they believe in you. Not to mention they open up doors for you to meet new other people with their openness and charisma.

6. She follows her passions.

Even when she isn't that good at something (although she thinks she is), she still does all of the things she loves and wants to do. And you've just got to admire her for that, even if you are cringing by the sound of her singing. If you don't have someone in your life that takes joy in all the things they love to do, then what kind of friends do you have? You need to be able to enjoy life, even when you're bad at it!

7. She's extremely loyal.

In the face of hardships, Phoebe is always there for her friends. She will drive you to the airport to chase after your soulmate at midnight just so you can stop them from getting on the plane. She will let you live with her when your current living situation has become a predicament. You can always count on Phoebe to be there for you and that's why everyone needs a friend like Phoebe.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
