Whenever you meet someone new, you're usually required to answer basic questions about yourself such as: "What is your name?" or "Where are you from?" I always have to answer with "Hi I'm Michelle, and I'm from Delaware." I never knew being from Delaware was such big deal until I went to college out-of-state and people started asking me the same questions all of the time. So for those of you who don't know much about where I'm from, I'll let you read this so you don't have to bother me with your stupid questions later.
1) "Delaware? Is that a state?"
Yes, Delaware is a state. FYI; it's the first state.
2) "What do you even do in Delaware?"
I don't understand why this is even a question. I'm sure Delaware is pretty similar to wherever you are from, so we probably do a lot of similar activities to pass the time.
3) "Where's that?"
Did you ever take geography? It's on the east coast.
4) "What? There are beaches in Delaware?"
Yes, southern Delaware has multiple beaches, and they are better than the ones in New Jersey: this includes Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, Lewes, Cape Henlopen, and so many more. Maybe you should visit sometime.
5) "OMG do you know Joe Flacco?"
Okay, I know of Joe Flacco. No, I do not actually know him. Delaware is not THAT small.
6) "What do you mean you don't have sales tax?"
I mean when something is $9.99, I pay exactly $9.99. I shouldn't have to pay anymore than that anyways.
7) " So you're from Delaware, Ohio?
No, I am from the state of Delaware. I am not from the city of Delaware.
