7 Questions After Season 7 Finale Of 'Shameless'

Warning -- this contains spoilers! So before you find your eager eyes soaking in my Shameless questions, be warned. If you've never seen Shameless, I highly recommend it. It is Showtime's second most-watched TV show, right behind Homeland. I've been known to become overly obsessed with fictional characters and dive right into their lives. So join me on this seven question Shameless quest that we hope is answered in Season 8.

Like I said, you've been warned...

1. Is Lip single?

Lip is the eldest son of Frank and the late Monica and easily the hottest Gallagher. He is extremely intelligent, very street smart, ride or die for his family and um… HOTT. Lip began the series as a street savvy high schooler who unknowingly fell for TV’s biggest bitch, Karen. His relationship with Karen ultimately led to the demise of his high school education and future college education. Reluctantly, with Karen out of the picture, Lip attended college. He struggled with the rigorous freshman year of new surroundings. He tried to be a typical college player at parties. Then began dating his roommate’s ex. Then by Season 5, once again fell in love – this time with TV’s hottest college professor, Helene. Helene was intelligent, engaging, and oh yeah, married. The fallout with the professor led to Lip’s expulsion from school, sending him into a drunken down spiral. But with those looks, it’s not hard to find love. He soon began a relationship with a young, single mother, Sierra, who we all seemed to cheer on. (Even though we all want some of Lip.) Once again, Lip’s Frank-like tendencies led to another breakup in Season 7. However, in the finale, Sierra is at the Gallagher home to be there for Lip after his mother’s death. Interesting.

So, I’ll go ahead and ask it, as we all think it, “Lip, are you single? Can you take your shirt off again?”

2. Will the US defeat Russia?

And no, I’m not referring to the current shit-show political situation in which our head of state has managed to disclose top secret material to his “non-collused” election ally. I’m speaking of the ending of the polyamorous relationship between Kev, Veronica and Svetlana. Kev and Veronica are neighbors of the Gallagher’s and easily my favorite couple on the show. Well, they were until Season 6. During this season, Veronica married Svetlana so that Svetlana could stay in the United States and continue to work at the bar, The Alibi Room. Kev and Vee loved Svetlana. Literally. Okay, maybe just Vee did, but Svetlana was book savvy, knew how to drive revenue and was great at ‘wifey’ duties, as Svet liked to call them. Then Kev and V were hit with the biggest blow of Season 7. Well, maybe the second biggest blow, followed only after Frank’s activities. Svetlana had managed hoodwink my favorite couple by having them unknowingly sign away the rights to The Alibi Room. During the threesome’s child adoption paperwork, Svetlana had Putin’d her way to the American bar dream. She owned Kev’s life-long employment spot. The polyamorous relationship was in shambles at the end of Season 7. Can America’s unlikely duo make The Alibi Room ‘great again’? MTARGA is the new MAGA.

3. Where is Steve-Jimmy-Jack?

Steve, Jimmy, Jack, overly-proportioned head – whatever you want to call him, where is he?! He disappears in Season 5 when Fiona declines his offer to run away with him. I mean, can we blame her? Look at the lies and demise of Steve-Jimmy-Jack. But, I do believe he loved Fiona, and I also believe he has been the only guy that Fiona really loved, too. He stepped up to help Fiona during her times of need, as well as the needs of the rest of the Gallagher’s. But he was infamous for disappearing unannounced. Where is his big ‘ole head, now?!

4. Is Debbie gonna weld more than just metal?

I must admit it – Debbie is my least favorite Gallagher. She did everything opposite of what we all yelled at our TV’s. She became friends with Holly, a promiscuous dingbat. She essentially rapes a guy. She then goes on a sexscapade and ends up pregnant with a new love interest’s child. Fiona urged for an abortion. Maybe we didn’t agree with that route, but Debbie, think about adoption! By Season 7, we learn that Debbie wants to pursue a career in welding. She is finally on the “right” track and is married to a filter-less wheel-chair confined ginger – who I adore – just not for Debbie. As we watch her in a welding class, sparks are flying. And not just from the torches. Is Debbie going to begin sexcapade 2?

5. Are we going to see more of Frank’s soft side?

We all hate Frank. He is an alcoholic, dead-beat father who has scammed his way into our hearts. He called Child Services on his own family, encourages Carl to sell drugs and guns and screwed Dottie to death, literally. Clearly Frank is the character we’re all supposed to hate. But his unremarkable intelligence, sarcastic comments and random unknowingly acts of kindness make us to begin love Frank. The sick cirrhosis-ridden Frank changed my outlook on the show’s main character. Sure, his message at Fiona’s second wedding wasn’t well delivered, but he was watching out for his daughter. Okay, true, he broke Debbie’s Abe Lincoln school project, but look, he got Liam into the best school for his age. Frank’s message at Monica’s funeral was really the shining moment for William Macy’s character. He truly loved Monica, even her flaws. Monica had great qualities and during his eulogy he pointed out those great qualities to his children by saying they were seen in themselves, the Gallagher’s.

“I miss you, Monnie,” Frank says as he ends his speech. I silently wiped the tears from my face. Can we see more of this Frankie?!

6. Can Shelia come back?

Please, for the love of God, bring back Shelia. Shelia, played by Joan Cusack, is the mother of TV’s biggest bitch. Karen, remember her? Well they are exact opposites. Shelia suffers from agoraphobia where she has an extreme fear of leaving the house. She misses Karen’s parent teacher conferences, grocery shopping and outings with girlfriends. She has the purest intentions (maybe not upstairs in her bedroom) and in my opinion, the best attitude of the all Shameless characters. She stays positive even during her darkest days. Shelia encourages Karen in school and Frank during one of his sobriety stints. She watches and cares for Liam, the youngest Gallagher. She even adopts her abandoned grandson. At the end of Season 5, Shelia has gained and maintained her newly found freedom. Ironically, she exits her home which she once was imprisoned to, well what’s left of it after Frank’s explosion, and hops in her newly-purchased RV to see the world.

Gurl, can you come back?! We miss your quick wit and pure heart!

7. Are we all Gallagher’s?

Well, after the Season 7 finale, my one question that is deeper than the show itself is, “Are we all Gallagher’s?” Each member of the Gallagher clan has personal struggles that we can identify with. Unidealistic parent-child relationship? Mental health issues? (raises hand) Assumed responsibility that you just weren’t ready for, hell, you just didn’t want? Rejection from the one thing you wanted most? Inner turmoil with sexual identity? Ugly duckling phase including teasing and ridicule from public pool tramps? (Okay, maybe that was too specific.) Got caught neck-deep in something that could kill you? These issues are tackled in Shameless with unsuspecting humor and wit. Even if you can’t relate to one of these, surely, you’ve sipped a beer before. And to that, cheers! Because you’re a Gallagher.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.
