If you're a die-hard Shameless fan like myself, you know that the Gallaghers are an extremely colorful bunch, each with their own quirks and downfalls that make Shameless fans fall more and more in love with each episode. While it seems that Gallagher crew member Lip has recently been gaining all the media attention as the gang's heartthrob, I think it's time we give some credit where credit is due; to Fiona, the ring-leader and the absolute badass of the Gallagher crew. Here are just a few reasons to love her:

1. She's extremely responsible.

As the eldest of six children, Fiona takes on the parental role when their mother bolts and their alcoholic father proves incapable of providing proper care. Fiona always puts family first and never fails to have her siblings' backs, even when she's juggling personal issues. It takes an incredibly strong person to be that selfless.

2. She gives good advice.

Fiona is wise beyond her years and always knows the right thing to say in times of family crises (especially those that arise as Debs navigates dumb boys and bitchy middle school girls). The big sis advice is always from the heart, but stays raw and straight to the point.

3. She's not afraid to stand up for herself and her family.

While she may have a sweet and friendly exterior, you're really in for a surprise if you try to mess with Fiona or her family. Trust me: you don't f*ck with Fiona Gallagher and expect to get away from it unscathed.

4. She stays optimistic.

Although Fiona has experienced a hell of a lot of trauma throughout her young life, she doesn't let her tough past make her cynical. She never asks for pity, and never freaks out amidst the pressure of it all. She just accepts that it happened, and channels that negative energy into getting sh*t done.

5. She's not perfect (and she's not afraid to admit that).

Sure, I've been going on and on about what an icon and savior Fiona is, but every hero has their downfall. Throughout the show, Fiona messes up. A lot. But she's only human, and she continually proves herself capable of picking herself right back up after a blunder.

6. She has so much love to give.

When you peel back the layers, Fiona is, at her core, a beautiful soul who wants nothing more than to love and care for the people in her life who make her happy. Take her relationship with baby brother Liam, for example.

7. She genuinely gives no f*cks.

I'll say it again, really: you don't f*ck with Fiona Gallagher and expect to get away with it. Truly iconic.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
