Guys, I didn’t have a job in college for two years so I tried everything I could to stretch my savings account money as far as it would go. I’ve bought a lot of generic brand products and I’ve loved many of those generic products. But I’m writing this so that you all can learn from my mistakes. Here’s a list of things that should never be bought generic no matter how cheap the price is.
1. Peanut Butter
Nope. Not a good call guys. Generic brand peanut butter has this weird texture, it’s way too oily and it definitely does not taste like peanuts. Plus it doesn’t spread smoothly and melts way too fast if you try to put it on a bagel. So instead, I put it in the trash.
2. Tampons
Trust me, I know tampons cost way more than they should but generic brand is not worth it. The cotton is not wrapped tight enough so it basically unfolds. Also the string, not attached well which causes some issue and the absorption is basically nonexistent.
3. Deodorant
Even if it’s winter, after three hours you’ll smell. What’s the point of buying something if it doesn’t even do its job? Plus depending on what kind you buy, it’ll leave a lovely sticky residue when it takes way too long to dry.
4. Powdered Doughnuts
The word “powdered” is in the name but that’s not what you pay for when you buy generic. The thin layer of white does nothing to mask the super dry doughnut that’s underneath. Not worth.
5. Lipstick
They either come off right away or they take three makeup wipes to remove. Plus they always feel sticky on no matter how much lip balm you put on beforehand.
6. Toilet Paper
One-ply is honestly the worst thing that’s ever been invented. You need way too much to get the job done which can lead to a clogged toilet. It’s scratchy and pointless.
7. Tissues
Same reasons as above but with the added bonus of making your face red, itchy and irritated. They get stuck in the box and when you’ve got a nasty cold not only do they not get the job done but they rip the moment you need them most.
