There are pretty spots on Virginia Tech's campus. Overall, VT is beautiful. But there are underrated spots just like there are "basic" spots on campus. Date spots, game days, relaxing on the Drillfield... all in the fall with the leaves falling is just simply... breathtaking.
1. Duck Pond
It's a perfect "fall" date for couples... especially during #cuffingseason. You can sit on a bench or in one of the gondolas, look over the water, and potentially get engaged. And if you're single, you can feed the ducks or go fishing. It's a beautiful spot that's been on VT's campus since the 1800s.
2. 4/16 Memorial
Walking up and down Drillfield Drive and next to Burruss and seeing the leaves fall off the trees by the memorial is breathtaking. Every time I walk by it, I just stop and appreciate the beauty that is Virginia Tech.
3. The lawn between Torg and McBryde where the leaves fall off the trees
An underrated spot that you've probably never noticed if you ever went to Virginia Tech but the leaves falling off the trees right next to McBryde is truly amazing. The trees overshadow the sidewalk going up to McBryde and as you take every step you can hear that leaf crunch (if you forgot your headphones at home).
4. Torg Bridge and everything in between
Torg Bridge is just beautiful. If you happen to find a seat in Torg Bridge, you can either see the downtown Chipotle (which is also pretty let's be real) or you can see the Pylons and the lawn just in front of the bridge where seniors take their pictures in front of the flowers. Torg... is just beautiful.
5. Lane Stadium on game day
How else do I explain the fact that jumping to Enter Sandman with your fellow 60,000 Hokies is beautiful?
6. The huge flower VT logo outside English Field
As soon as you enter the back entrance of Virginia Tech, you are graced with the presence of so many flowers shaped into VT and right outside English Field Union Park, aka the baseball field. It's another underrated pretty photo spot on campus but it's something that you must see before you graduate.
7. Sitting on top of the Pylons overlooking the Drillfield
Lastly, the Drillfield is a sight. Feet dangling from the edge of the Pylons and looking out over the Drillfield is something any Hokie should do before they graduate. Sitting on top of the Pylons and overlooking the Drillfield — at sunset time — is breathtaking not to mention Instagrammable.
