Tired of walking around campus or trying to find something new to do? Check out these 7 places you need to go to while attending UT!

1. Riverwalk

Just a short 5 minute walk from school, this 1.8 mile paved path is a great place to go for a walk, run, or bike. It’s located along the Hillsborough river and is a popular place to visit for UT students. The path starts at the Straz center and can lead you all the way to the Florida Aquarium. Riverwalk also holds tons of FREE events throughout the year, especially at the Curtis Hixon Park (right across from UT), so make sure you check it out!

2. Bayshore

Another great place to go for a walk or run, is Bayshore Blvd. Bayshore, around a 15 min walk from UT is a 4.5 mile continuous sidewalk. While walking Bayshore you can enjoy the view of the river and the many nice homes located along this route.

3. Ybor City

Do you really go to UT, if you haven’t been to Ybor?! Ybor, once a city known for its cigar manufacturing is now one of the most popular places for nightlife in the Tampa area. From various clubs to bars, you’ll never get bored in Ybor. Not to mention, Ybor is full of strange characters. Yes there is a guy who wants to lick the bottom of your shoe. With that said, you should never venture there alone.

4. Daily Eats

Daily Eats is a restaurant located in SoHo (along South Howard Ave). This place is a favorite among UT students. You have to check it out at least once but I’m sure you’ll go back for more! Everything is delicious and they have prices that college students can afford. Seriously, try the mac n cheese!

5. Station

Located a few blocks away from Straz on Cass Street, Station is a local bar that UT students flock to on the weekends. It is truly an experience and you need to go at least once to immerse yourself into the UT culture.

6. Eddie and Sam’s Pizza

Who doesn’t love pizza? Eddie and Sam’s has the BEST pizza in the Tampa area. They’re located downtown and the slices are the size of your head. Sadly, they don’t deliver but the short walk is definitely worth it.

7. Gasparilla

Okay technically Gasparilla isn’t an actual place but it is an event that you should go to! Gasparilla is a celebration held along Bayshore every year. Basically everyone dresses like pirate, gets drunk, and gets beads thrown at them (kinda of like Mardi Gras). People come to Gaspy (Gasparilla) from all over, so you know it’s a good time. You don’t wanna miss out on Gasparilla!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
