Rainy days in New York continue to leave us with, well… just Neflix (which I’m not complaining about.) This is because we mostly walk everywhere and it's nearly impossible to spend time outside when it’s raining. However, here are a few things to do if you ever feel like giving "Grey’s Anatomy" a rest on a rainy day:

1. Paris Café

One of my favorite little restaurant and bar's in the Financial District is Paris Café, where you get to feel like you’ve escaped NYC for a bit. And with impeccable views of the East River, you can enjoy a meal by the water while being sheltered from the rain!

2. Joe & the Juice

One of my favorite things to do when the weather is a drag in New York is to bring a friend (or just my laptop) and sit in a coffee shop. You can meet the most beautiful people in coffee shops and just truly relax and enjoy yourself. This light and fun atmosphere leaves you with so many options. You can get a fresh squeezed juice, smoothie, or amazing coffee and espresso. They even have a photobooth that will leave you and your friends entertained for hours!

3. The MET or MoMa

Explore a Museum. New York has so many amazing museums to spend the day in. The MET is definitely my favorite, and the more time I spend there, the more I love it. Another great museum is the MoMA, which also has great food, too!

4. Battery Park Regal Cinemas

New York has various movie theatres and also little theatres that show independent films. My go-to movie theatre is Battery Park Regal Cinemas right on the Hudson River. There is so much offered by a movie theatre on a rainy day!

5. Broadway!

I never regret dropping the money for some good entertainment. TodayTix is a great app for finding cheap show tickets.

6. New York Public Library

This may sound nerdy, but the New York Public Library is a great place to go when you just want to grab a book and relax, but also do something super New York-y. It is beautiful and easy to appreciate the architecture and you almost feel like you are getting away for a little bit.

7. Chelsea Galleries

There are so many art galleries in Chelsea that you can just walk into and get some inspiration on a rainy day.

8. Izakaya MEW Happy Hour!

New York never fails to provide us with an abundance of happy hour options in any neighborhood. For sushi lovers, this basement midtown sushi restaurant, Izakaya MEW, has happy hour from 6-8:00 p.m. every day. Perfect for a rainy day when there’s nothing better to do!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
