One thing a Long Island summer can’t be complete without is dessert! Nothing better than coming home from a long day at the beach and stopping for desert! Though there are hundreds of places across Long Island that are great for food, these are the 7 seven places to go for that special snack.
1. Kilwin’s
Besides having multiple locations, including even other states, Kilwin’s is one of the most trusted names in ice cream for just a quick cone when out with friends. They also have the best fudge around. Their flavor selection is vast and the quality of the ice cream is through the roof.
2. Hershey's Ice Cream in West Islip
Another great ice cream joint that even makes milkshakes similar to the fancy ones that are trending right now from Black Taft!
3. Any Ralph’s
Ralph’s is a Long Island staple so I shouldn’t even have to say anything at all without everyone already knowing the wonder that is Ralph’s.
4. Diner By The Sea
If you’re unfamiliar, Diner By The Sea is in Long Beach and makes some of the most delicious and cutest milkshakes across Long Island. Not only are they so fun to take pictures of, but most shakes come with little props like a crazy straw or a pair of funky sunglasses in the cup.
5. The Witches Brew
Being a Hofstra student my guilty pleasure has to be The Witches Brew because of its close proximity and really cool vibe! But their coffees, lattes, hot chocolate, and desserts are perfect especially for a cold winter night.
6. International Delight Café
Another classic joint, the café is known for its waffles and ice cream but one of my personal favorites happens to be the case of ice cream that lines the front wall with 30+ flavors! (Definitely try the Rainbow cookie cake).
7. Marvel Frozen Dairy
And last but not least, Marvel! If you’re going to take a trip to Long Beach or you live close by, Marvel’s soft serve is out of this world! It wouldn’t be a Long Island summer without it!
