7 Phases Of Getting Ready On A Saturday Night

So, it's Wednesday and you have made plans again for the weekend. The typical bar crawl with friends until you can't remember why you thought it was a good idea to go out in the first place. Saturday rolls around and you worked all day. You're exhausted but 7pm hits and its time to get ready...at first you are all for it but then its a ride on the struggle bus for about an hour.

1. Do I have to get up and shower?

You're all cuddled up in bed watching the Law and Order SVU marathon and notice it's 7 and you NEED to get up and shower.

2. Alright this is going to be an awesome night, I'm going to look so GOOD.

Well, you have showered now so thats a step in the right direction. You begin to gain all this confidence and think the night is going to go so well. Until you mess up your mascara and the regret sets in.

3. The jeans you were going to wear....they have a huge stain on them.

Now your WHOLE outfit is screwed up. You begin to think you should text your friend and come up with some bogus excuse as to why you can no longer come out. Instead you suck it up and find a pair of leggings to wear. Which come on ladies leggings over jeans any day!

4. Your friend sends you THE text.

You suddenly get a text from your best friend telling you that the person you both can not stand is going to the same bar crawl. Now you begin to regret this all together. However, you both agree to be adults about this and go to the crawl and pay no attention to her.

5. You're finally getting in the right mood!!!

The playlist on pandora is killing it and you begin to feel excited about going out. All your favorite people are coming and you're really ready to unwind and enjoy yourself.

6. Rides here!!!!!

To no surprise your DD is ten minutes early BUT no worries you look flawless...so lets go!

7. Let the night begin...

You made it to the bar, everyone is laughing and enjoying themselves. Although the process of getting ready is a real pain in the butt, you are glad you struggled through it and made an appearance. Not only were all your favorite people there but it was THE best night out in weeks!!!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
