7 New Songs You Should Add to Your Playlist This Year
Dr. Odd

It may still be January, but that doesn't mean that there have not already been some amazing music releases for this year. Why shouldn't the turn of the year be a good time to find new music? New year, new you, right? Update that workout playlist you need to stay motivated, and have more fun doing it, because now you can brag to your friends about finding this stuff first.

Without further ado, here's the songs you should make a point to listen to before we get too far in to 2017.

1. "Shape of You," Ed Sheeran

You've probably already heard this song on the radio, and there's good reason why--it's catchy as heck. It's an early release single to go with his upcoming album, and came out with another, less catchy, but still stellar track, "Castle on the Hill."

2. "Quit You," Lost Kings feat. Tinashe

Another new groove with a hot beat and easy to relate to lyrics. If you can say you've never been stuck on someone for a little too long, healthy or no, you're probably lying. Lost Kings and Tinashe capture that feeling pretty purely.

3. "Don't Speak for Me (True)," Andrew McMahon and the Wilderness

A breakup song that will actually make you remember to grow from the experience--not dissimilar to "Changing of the Seasons" by Two Door Cinema Club. However, this track will probably feel appropriate sooner into any sadness than Two Door Cinema Club's can.

4. "I'm Betta," Bell Biv DeVoe

A heavy beat and some strong lyrics to remind you that you can do better, or, rather, betta. Probably not the best choice for a homework session, but still something worth listening to if you need a reminder to take the high road.

5. "Wild Horses (Attom Remix)," Bishop Briggs

While "Wild Horses" came out in 2016, this remix just made it out, and might just change the song forever. It pulls the beat up, and speeds up the chorus just enough. Trust me, this is a new driving song for those late nights and early morning commutes.

6. "What Good is Saturday," Train

A solid standby band for most, with quality throwbacks, Train makes a shift with this vaguely party-atmosphere track. It sounds more like hanging out with friends than most other songs with "Saturday" in the title, but still stands.

7. "Stuck in the Middle," SiDizen King

An easy to sing-along-to chorus and a rap just slow enough to follow make this song gold. There's enough story to make you listen, and the chorus makes it even more fun.

Bonus: "Be The 1," Ricky Reed

Ricky Reed, of Wallpaper. fame and Twenty One Pilots Producer, released a more sentimental tune than normal this year--and it's worth singing to someone you're into. It's on Spotify, and is worth looking up. Not to mention, some of the music he's pulled off as Wallpaper.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
