As summer wraps up maybe we have already enjoyed a few good movies this vacation, Suicide Squad, Sausage party, Star Trek, Neighbors 2, and Finding Dory. While these are only a few, we have even more great cinematic features to look forward to this fall.
1. Sully
The movies Sully opens September 9th and I had the honor of just recently watching the preview last night during another good movie War Dogs. Based on the true story of the even in 2009 Chelsey Sullenberger, played by Tom Hanks was the head pilot when the plane had lost both of its engines due to an oncoming flock of birds. This there-forth leading to him landing the plane on the Hudson River and saving every single passengers life aboard that plane. With Clint Eastwood having directed the movie I have no doubt that this true event will be told well for all of the world to finally fully understand.
2. When the Bough Breaks
Also opening the weekend of September 9th, John and Laura Taylor, played by Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall are a happily married couple, yet want a child. After trying to conceive and realizing that they are too unsuccessful, they turn to a surrogate to help them provide a child. Yet the longer she is with the couple the more psycho she becomes and develops a crazy obsession for the husband and proceeds to try to murder the wife. Definitely a thriller if you're looking for one.
3. Snowden
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Nicholas Cage, Scott Eastwood and Shailene Woodley all star in the movie Snowden based off of the true events of Edward Snowden associated with the NSA. in 2013 Edward Snowden was a CIA employee and a contractor for the US government. Yet that year he changed people's lives by leaking thousands of documents that were classified to journalists. Eventually this information leaked onto The Washington Post, The Guardian and The New York Times. Although violation the Espionage Act of 1917, he still shook up the world and thus began the debate of what the balance between security and privacy from the government should be.
4. Storks
Opening September 23rd this cute animated movie fulfills all of the stories our parents told us when we were younger and asked "Where do babies come from?." Junior, the top stork played by Andy Samberg has been impressing other storks by delivering babies at a great rate, and after they stopped doing so they moved on to packages. That is until Junior accidentally turns on the baby maker and creates one more baby that he has to deliver with the help of his human friend Tulip.
5. Deepwater Horizon
Mark Wahlberg is the lead actor in this movie that is based off of the true story of the oil drilling rig that exploded in April 2012, hence creating the worst oil spill in U.S history. Dylan O'Brien and Gina Rodriguez also accompany Mike Williams played by Mark on the oil rig in telling the horrific story for survival.
6. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
Based off of the book written by Ransom Riggs, the main character Jacob, played by Asa Butterfield, discovers a different kind of island with a house that has peculiar children. These children all have different powers and Jacob soon realizes that he isn't much different from them. Jacob is also expected to help save the children from the monsters out to kill them. Having read the book I will definitely be in the theaters when it comes out September 30th.
7. A Monster Calls
Coming out October 21st, Connor feels mostly angry and damaged as a young boy. As his mom faces terminal illness, he seeks help in a friendly monster that helps him face his fears including bullies as well as self-confidence. Watching the preview I got chills knowing that a friendly monster could help fix a boy's life.
