Every morning I flip on the iHeartRadio app on my phone and turn on 93.7 The Bull, the local country station in the St. Louis area. They play the Bobby Bones Show every weekday, by far my favorite thing on the radio. In my opinion, it is one of the most unique shows available, especially in Nashville or country music in general. Today, we will countdown the Top seven reasons why the Bobby Bones Show is music to your ears. (Pun intended).
7. That time Luke Bryan killed "Heliumoke"
Bobby challenged Luke Bryan to do one of his own songs after sucking on some helium. He chose "That's My Kind of Night" and still made it sound incredible even after expressing his concern. "Didn't somebody die from this?"
6. Craig Campbell knows every song in country music history.
OK not really, but he does know just about every song Bobby and the crew can throw at him. On multiple occasions, the play the "Stump Craig Campbell" game, and they were all in for a pleasant With ease he can picture the music in his head and riff out anything from Alan Jackson to Garth Brooks to Shenandoah to David Allen Coe. It's evident how much of a student of country music Craig is, and it makes for some great radio.
5. Lunchbox can guess your weight over the phone.
One of the personalities nicknamed "Lunchbox" has a knack for guessing caller's weights by asking a handful of bizarre questions over the phone. How he does it we may never know... But it is still pretty incredible.
4. Dustin Lynch: Pop star...?
Most of the time when a country star comes to the show they do a few covers, some of their own and some from other artists. Dustin Lynch took on Drake and Bruno Mars. This leaves us wondering if Drake will pull him on stage soon too, s/o to Eminem. (A guy can dream).
3. Ed Sheeran goes on a Cruise playing an FGL song.
Ed Sheeran stopped by the show and chose to do his own version of Florida Georgia Line's mega-hit "Cruise." There isn't much to say besides watch it. Do it now!
2. Chris Stapleton wants to be Your Man.
We'e down to #2 so it's a must that we go to true, great music. Chris Stapleton covers a song that he helped wite, Josh Turner's "our Man". The product is scary good. Stapleton and Turner should really team up for a great soul/r&b vibe. Wink-Wink, Nudge-Nudge.
1. Sam Hunt's Strawberry Wine
OK, I am pretty biased towards Hunt because I am such a big fan, but this is a true evaluation. When he covered the song "Strawberry Wine," it was definitely one of the best covers the show has ever seen. It is a must watch:
If you haven't, I urge you to listen to the Bobby Bones show soon. Then you can hear great moments lie this firsthand.
