7 Ways To Make The Most Of Your Morning

I compiled seven different things to try in the morning that will give you a great day. Whether you just incorporate one, all seven, or a combination of a few, they will definitely make the most of your morning.

1. Wake up early.

When I say waking up extremely early, I'm talking about 5:00 a.m. or 5:30 a.m. The reason for this is that no one else is awake at this time. You have a few hours that are dedicated to you and you alone. You don't have to do "work" necessarily - just take advantage of the calm and isolated morning to better yourself. Watch a show or take a long warm shower just to focus on waking up.

2. Use the 4-hour rule.

Dedicate four hours each morning to getting all of your work done. The reason for doing this in the morning is that it's better than later because you have no idea what is going to pop up in the midday and evening. Get all your work done early. That way, you can enjoy the rest of the day and, just in case something does pop up later in the day, you don't have to stress about getting your work done.

3. Exercise.

The best cardio that burns the most fat is fasted cardio. The easiest way to complete fasted cardio is in the morning before you have breakfast. The reason this kind of cardio is preferred is that when you run on an empty stomach, you burn all the fat you have. There is no food to burn because you didn't eat, so the body burns the unwanted fat that you put on the previous day. What a morning you can have burning calories before you even start your day.

4. Meditate.

I don't know about you, but nothing is more calming than the slow sunrise, cold breeze, and the sound of birds chirping as the world wakes up. A calm environment is crucial to meditation, and the morning provides it. The morning also guarantees less human interaction, which is well known to be the opposite of calming. Not to mention, having a clear mind before you begin the day is super beneficial to you as well.

5. Watch or read the news.

Read from your favorite online news site or watch your favorite news TV station in the morning. The morning is a good time to catch up on the local and global news. Not only can you bring up the days hot political topics at work, but you'll be able to know what's happening in the world and where your country and city stands financially, socially, and politically.

6. Get some fresh air.

The best time to get fresh air in the morning or evening because it's not ridiculously hot outside. When getting fresh air, it can be anything from a walk to reading on the porch. In today's world, we are always inside working, so it's nice to take a break from the technology and enjoy the fresh air.

7. Check your emails.

Answer and send all of your emails for the day in the morning. By doing so, it gives the entire day for responses, and if it's urgent, the person receiving your email gets it right away. Don't just check emails, but also reply to everyone who texted you and listen to missed voicemails, too.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
