It's finally getting warmer out which means it's time to get out in the city and explore. Memphis has some really fun things to offer all year round but especially during the spring time. Check out the list below and start planning your best spring yet!

1. Time Warp Drive-In Movies

Each movie is $10 per person and you know you wanna pretend you've hopped back in time, cuddle up in your car with snacks and your best friends and see some awesome old classics! Check out their Facebook page for more info.


2. April 11th - Broad Avenue Spring Arts Walk

Take a stroll down Broad Ave. and check out work from over 40 local artists around Memphis.


3. Saturday, April 8th - Overton Square Memphis Crawfish Festival

Taking up the whole square, this huge fest includes lots of yummy foods and drinks, live music, and shopping. Check out all the details here.

4. June 1st to 3rd - Memphis Italian Festival

Come out to support Memphis' Italian community and participate in eating lots of good food, playing games, listening to live music, and even competing in a cooking contest!


5. April 23rd - Lucero Family Block Party

Come out to the all-day mini-music festival outside Minglewood Hall featuring music from Doors, Young Valley, Mark Edgar Stuart, Cory Branan, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, and Lucero.


6. May 13 - Dog-A-Roo Festival

This pupper party at Shelby Farms Park is a perfect time to bring your dog out or go hang out with other people's dogs.

7. May 5-7 - Beale Street Music Festival

Recently named one of the world's best music festivals, Beale Street Music Fest is headlining with Snoop Dogg, MGMT, Kings of Leon, Wiz Khalifa, Death Cab for Cutie, and Soundgarden this year. Three Day Passes are $150!

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
