Clearly one of the best shows to ever air on television, "How I Met Your Mother" introduced us to the legendary Barney Stinson. A complex character, who had many issues, taught us some valuable life lessons without even trying to. He did not preach his wisdom, like Ted, but chose actions over words.

1. Be confident: Never underestimate yourself.

2. Never hold back: Do what makes you happy and do it right.

3. Be honest: Tell people how you really feel or you will risk losing them.

4. Expect the unexpected: Life does not always go according to plan.

5. Challenge yourself: Go outside your comfort zone.

6. Suit up!: Life is easier when you are dressed nice.

7. Friends are family: Hold onto the good ones.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.
