It is that time of year again and we are just days away from one of the most beloved holidays: Halloween. Y'all, t'is the season to eat an absurd amount of candy, drink every kind of pumpkin flavored beverage, and light all your seasonal candles (my Candied Apple candle made by Better Homes and Gardens and available for purchase at Wally World is my favorite). This is also the time to settle in on the couch, snuggle up with your loved ones, make some kettle corn, and enjoy Halloween movies with your family. Movie-watching is an awesome pastime that can be done so easily and comfortably. So, parents, make this a Halloween tradition your kids will look forward to every year! Here are 7 family-friendly, Halloween movies you can watch with your little ones:

1. "Casper" (1995)

Rating: PG

Starring: Bill Pullman, Christina Ricci

This is such a fun movie that features ghosts that are hilarious, not terrifying. If your kids are cool, and maybe 10 years old and up, they should enjoy this one.

2. "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (1993)

Rating: PG

Starring: pretty much just Danny Elfman

This is a classic that you can sing along with! I still know all the words to Jack's Lament. If your kids are headed for that emo stage in their life, they'll like this one. Just turn it on and it'll trick them into spending time with you.

3. "Beetlejuice" (1988)

Rating: PG

Starring: Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Winona Ryder, Geena Davis

This is another classic that'll have your kids rolling on the floor laughing, not running to your bed at 3 am crying about some, "that movie scared me" stuff.

4. "The Little Vampire" (2000)

Rating: PG

Starring: Jonathan Lipnicki

This one is super cute and can be enjoyed by even the littlest little ones.

5. "The Haunted Mansion" (2003)

Rating: PG

Starring: Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Tilly

I am almost 21 years old and I can still watch this movie and enjoy it. This is a great one you can watch with the kiddos and actually enjoy yourself.

6. "The Addams Family" (1991)

Rating: PG-13

Starring: Angelica Houston, Raul Julia, Christina Ricci

This one is rated PG-13 because of a little sexual content, but if you are not super over-protective your kids should love this movie. It is one of my all time favorites and I can quote most of it word for word.

7. "Hocus Pocus" (1993)

Rating: PG

Starring: Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Thora Birch

This is a classic everyone loses their minds over. You would be a fool not to share it with your children! Don't we all want the best for them?

OK guys, make the holidays count because they only come around once a year. Cozy up on the couch with your 9-year-old while you have the chance, and bond over these movies....because in a few years they will be embarrassed to walk down the same aisle as you in Wal-Mart.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
