Apple will be hosting a keynote event on September 7, 2016 at 10 a.m. PDT to debut upcoming releases of their newest products and software updates. The keynote event will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, as reported by CNET, and will be livestreamed for online audiences.

As the date of the event might hint at, rumors have been surfacing that the event will talk about the release of the iPhone 7.

This Apple product might not fall far from the tree, however. Although the company’s history might allude to a grand new phone release, The Week reported that “Apple's next smartphone isn't tipped to be all that new.”

Some guesses around what new features the iPhone 7 might have include the lack of a headphone jack, an improved camera (of course), a water-resistant body, larger data-storing capacities, and a longer battery life, according to CNET.

While I don’t want to get my hopes up, a water-resistant iPhone would be really useful, in my opinion. These speculations around what the new iPhone will encompass have led me to create this list of features that I would personally want in a new iPhone. None of these features are confirmed, but rather my own desires for an iPhone. Here are seven of my top wishes for Apple's iPhone 7:

1. Group FaceTime

We have group calls and group messages, so why not group FaceTime?

2. Recycled Material

With all of the waste and pollution that old iPhones cause, I feel like this would be a nice way to give a bit of reprieve to our planet. Seriously, we need to start working towards a healthier planet.

3. Water Resistance

Personally, this would be a gift from heaven. I have had to replace my phone three times in the last year due to water damage, and I feel that a water-resistant phone would really help prevent accidental tragedies. Is having a phone that I can take in the shower too much to ask from Apple?

4. Shatterproof Screen

Do I even need to explain this one? Cracked screens are the worst (#FirstWorldProblems).

5. Pattern Passcode

Yes, I know that other phones have this feature. But, I think it would be a nice alternative for Apple customers to have the option of a patterned passcode system.

6. Solar Charging Capabilities

Convenience and environmental justice all wrapped in one shiny new phone. Just imagine how much electricity we could save if we didn’t have to plug in our phones every few hours.

7. Hologram

Don’t judge me. I really want to have hologram calls like the ones in "Star Wars" and "Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century." Plus, I feel like this is the next step for technology after augmented reality. But then again, I’m no tech expert.
