Travel: it enriches your life and your soul. Through travel, we learn more about the world we live in, gain respect for different cultures, and have experiences that we never could imagine having. There's no denying the fact that money has a huge impact on whether or not we take the opportunity to travel. So, here is a list of international places that are in our college budget. All of our waters, lands, and people are beautiful and unique, why not see for yourself?

1. Thailand

I would say that this picture of Thailand definitely speaks for itself. From exploring the luscious jungles to lounging around on the beautiful white sane beaches, this country a place you might not be mad about visiting. Living like an actual Thai local is how you will be able to afford such a spontaneous trip, by taking the bus, eating at local food stands, and taking advantage of all the free outdoor parks. Also, Thailand is known for their happy hour for food and drinks...not too shabby,eh?

2. India

Can you think of any other place to go and take in such a different and beautiful culture? India, is among the countries that are affordable to travel to. The cities are large and close together, walking is a great and cheap way to maneuver your way around, they also offer bike tours. Stay in a hostel or in a host home to cut down on living costs.

3. Cambodia

Cambodia is also another country that is easy accessible especially on a budget. Eating at food markets and buying local will cut down on food costs. Booking hostels and dorm rooms will also save you some pennies.

5. Fiji

These islands may look like they will break your bank, but I promise with a little planning it will be easy coasting. Instead of looking for a resort to stay at look at a guesthouse or hostel. This will save you loads of money and some even provide meals during your stay.

6. Bulgaria

Bulgaria is a country we often forget about or brush under the rug. Well, it is time to shake that rug out because is a hidden gem. It has many things to offer such as cheap public transportation and very affordable bakeries. Many of the museums and attractions have one day per week that the entry is free, so don't miss out on that! It is on the Black Sea, so it is a wonderful places to dip your feet in the water.

7. Peru

If you are a last minute kind of person this is the place for you. Last minute booking on trips and other attractions in Peru can actually save you money. Take public transportation rather than a taxi, and eat a street markets instead of sit down restaurants.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. "Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
