It seems like special holidays or occasions have been passing us by like bullets for the past few months. You've got graduation coming up, World Water Day, International's Women Day, and so on. You must be tired keeping count huh? Well, one of the most important days of celebration is happening NEXT WEEK. If you've only got finals on your mind, let me help you out by giving you some untraditional ideas to treat yo' mama on Mother's Day.

1. Jump Your Stress Away at a Trampoline Park

Skyzone is a popular trampoline park that has multiple locations across the country.

2. Get a Couples Massage

Who says couples massage is only for a romantic couple! Usually, massage parlors offer a discount for Mother's Day.

Click here to explore couple massage deals in your area.

3. Jjimjibam

If you want low cost but still enjoy the perks of being in a spa, then jjimjibam is the place for you. A Korean favorite, the open indoor area has multiple "heated" rooms where you can lie and let your pores open up to the heat. This is a great place to bond with your mom while having a place to relax.

If there is a Koreatown in your area, then there should be a jjimjibang around!

4. Try a New Restaurant Together

Like other couples, trying new things together is a great way to spend quality time and have more meaningful conversations, even with your mom! Yelp is a great resource to find that restaurant.

5. If You're Miles Away from Your Mom, Watch a Movie Together (Separately)

This is where Netflix comes in handy. Select a movie that the both of you agree and have it play at the same time, wherever you guys are. This will bring the distance between you even closer.

6. Another Way to Manage the Long Distance: Online Shopping Together

This may probably only work for mother and daughters but if you both love shopping, then call each other and spend that $$!

7. A Simple "I love you"

If scheduling doesn't work out, buy her something sweet and practical. Moms love practical stuff and she'll appreciate it just as much. Throw in a card, too.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
