7 Hysterical Tumblr Posts
college times

Tumblr is notorious for showcasing some of the trendiest pictures on the Internet. From black and white photos of a girl blowing smoke at the camera to the bright colors of various flowers, Tumblr is easily one of the most sophisticated, mysterious, and often intimidating social media sites out there. There are however, some of the funniest posts I have ever come across floating around Tumblr. Thus, I present 7 Tumblr posts that make me laugh out loud every time I read them and send them to my friends.

1. Sideview of a giraffe

This post cracks me up every time I look at for two reasons: 1) "prancing through nature" and 2) the actual picture of the giraffe prancing through nature. It's just so funny to me because the word prancing makes me imagine a gazelle hopping through the woods, but then seeing and imagining the giraffe prancing around without arms and bopping everywhere just makes me laugh so hard.

2. Pizza Guys

When I first read this post, I just imagined that scene on Spongebob where he's holding the pizza and singing the Krusty Krab pizza song and Squidward is just staring at him like "wtf are you doing", you know:

And well, I died.

3. Staples

This post was especially funny because I just imagined this kid looking his teacher dead straight in the face and not even flinching when he staples his hand. You think school is bad and boring and you'd rather be anywhere else, but you know this kid meant it.

4. Drawing

I don't know what it is about this post that is so hysterical to me; maybe it's how the artist took "draw party hats/wings and a drumstick" literally, or the random "Derp" escaping from the finished product's mouth or the comment at the bottom that says, "I think it's beautiful." I imagine the artist drawing the picture going along thinking, "Dang, I'm so good." Then they look at the final picture and say, "Shoot, I think I did it wrong." So they show it to their friend and the friend responds by lightly touching the picture and whispering, "I think it's beautiful," and the image of that just makes me laugh so hard.

5. #beachfail

Okay, so technically this isn't from Tumblr, but it's still funny because we've all been there--we all have that small fear of standing among the waves and experiencing that horrifying feeling of something rubbing up against our legs. Except in this case, it's not a string of seaweed or even a fish, it's a kid that has just been punted across the beach because of this guy's reflex.

6. Bumper stickers

Alright so there's a lot of mean words in this post, but still I think it speaks for itself.

7. Lizard

Those of you who know me know that I have a paralyzing fear of lizards, so it's a little weird that I would choose this, but IT'S SO FUNNY. When I first saw this post, I laughed so hard I actually ruined my makeup. See evidence below:

Can you just imagine for a second? This little girl is in 5th grade and she introduces herself to another girl in her class. The girl responds, "Oh Liz, that's a pretty name, is it short for Elizabeth?" and Liz responds, "No. It's short for Lizard, yeah I've asked and apparently my parents don't hate me." I just--God it's just so funny. "Hi my name is FREAKING LIZARD."

Okay, so yes, social media can be a place to show off how trendy you are at a music festival or how much fun you and your friends had at some party, but it can also serve to make you laugh so hard you develop a 6 pack. Even re-reading these posts has me in tears.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
