There's a pretty high chance that Monday is everyone's least favorite day of the week. The weekend is over and we have to suffer for another six or seven days of this undefinably, difficult concept, called life. But if we change the way we "Monday," then they won't be as miserable. Start the week off strong and end it even stronger. #MotivationMonday
1. Label your alarm with a motivational quote
While you're winding down on Sunday night, search for a motivational quote to name your alarm so that when you wake up, you can start the day off with some inspiration. This is more effective than waking up to the plain, old "Alarm."
2. Write down a list of things you want to accomplish this week in place of checking social media in the morning
Instead of scrolling through Instagram and Facebook in the morning with your cup of iced coffee, write down all of the things you have to get done this week. Whether it's written down in a planner or on a post-it note, place it somewhere you can see it everyday and check off the things you've accomplished. This helps you and your brain feel less stressed about all of the things you have to do and there's nothing more satisfying than checking off things you've completed!
3. Put on a good outfit
There's no better feeling than walking around knowing how cute you look. Although groutfits are super comfy, admit it, you look like a hobo.
4. Listen to your favorite music while driving or walking to your next location
Create a playlist with a catchy name full of your favorite songs that you get you pumped and put you in a good. The Monday blues can't exist when you're jamming out to "Mr. Brightside."
5. Treat yourself
How many times you have said "my diet starts on Monday?" You should be commending yourself for getting out of bed on Monday so there's no reason to punish yourself with a kale salad. Eat that donut because you deserve it. Or set aside some time to get your nails done so that you can admire your sparkly, clean fingers while you're writing emails and getting tasks done.
6. Set aside time for doing something that you love/self-care
There has to be something about Mondays that make them so easy to dread so why not dedicate time to doing something you enjoy to look forward to or unwind and relax? This could be reading a book, coloring, watching Netflix, playing sports, or whatever makes you happy that gets those good vibes flowing.
7. Drink more water
Water solves almost all of our problems so why not indulge in it? Drinking water is one of the easiest ways to stay healthy and it helps keep us stay awake when we're falling asleep in class or during never-ending meetings.
