1. Rotherwood Mansion in Kingsport, TN
It is said that the mansion is haunted by its builder’s daughter, who, stricken by the heartbreak of the death of her lover, drowned herself in a nearby lake. She is said to be seen walking near the site of her untimely death. She is not the only haunter to make its presence known. The home’s second owner Joshua Phipps was known as a mean man, and even after his death, visitors can still hear his evil laugh ring through the halls.
2. Super 8 in Chattanooga Ooltewah, TN
Witnesses report waking in the middle of the night to the ghost of a young woman sitting on the edge of the bed, who appears to be undressing. It is speculated that she was a prostitute who was murdered while on the job.
3. Wheatland Plantation in Sevierville, TN
Haunted by the 70 murders and deaths that happened on the property, the site of Revolutionary and Civil War battles is filled with longing spirits. Along with being the grave site of exactly 69 African slaves, the blood stain of the Chandler family father who was killed by his son can still be seen in the parlor of the home on the plantation.
4.Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, TN
Built in 1928, the still running theatre has had many ghost sightings. One of the most well known ghost is named Mary who is said to have died in a car crash outside of the theatre. She is said to frequent the showings, and plays with the staff by flickering on and off lights and slamming doors.
5. Union Station Hotel in Nashville, TN
It is said that many ghost roam the old train station turned hotel from a long ago train derailment where many lost their lives. It is said that they stay there, lingering at their last stop. There is also the ghost from the 3rd floor, a woman who when seen jumps from the balcony to her death. She miraculously disappears before she hits the ground.
6. Bell Witch Cave in Adams, TN
Home of the famous legend of the Bell Witch, the cave nearby the Bell family property is said to be the final home for the witch named Kate Batts who caused misfortune unto the Bell family for years. Legend has it that the witch tortured the youngest Bell child, Betsy, to the point of dragging her across rooms and scratching her skin. It is also believed that it was the witch herself who killed John Bell Sr. Reports say that she sometimes makes an appearance outside of the cave as a young girl in a green dress. If you ever visit the cave, be sure to not take anything with you as a souvenir, or Kate with haunt you until you return it.
