In the first half of 2017, many amazing artists have announced their upcoming new releases. Here are some great albums to look for that are slated to come out some time this year.
1. After Laughter - Paramore
It's been over four years since Paramore released their self-titled album. Now back as a trio with the return of Zac Farro, who departed the band prior to the recording of the self-titled record, Paramore has recently announced their fifth album, After Laughter. They released the first single and music video from the new record, "Hard Times." From this song, it seems we can expect Paramore to continue their exit from their angsty, pop punk days, and enter the indie pop world, full of color.
Expected for release: May 12th
2. Hopeless Fountain Kingdom - Halsey
Halsey hasn't put out an album since mid-2015, when she released her debut, "Badlands." Now she's set to release her sophomore effort, "Hopeless Fountain Kingdom," with which it's clear she's creating a whole new world and experience for her fans. She has released the first single, "Now or Never," and recently released the tracklist by leaving some fans across the country newpapers on their porch.
Expected for release: June 2nd
3. Mania - Fall Out Boy
Fall Out Boy recently announced their return with "Mania" after nearly two and half years since "American Beauty / American Psycho." With the announcement, they released the first single and music video, "Young and Menace," which is even a further departure from their pop punk days. It ventures into a pop and even a dub step sound.
Expected for release: September 15th
4. Harry Styles - Harry Styles
Since the split of One Direction in 2016, the members have each began their solo debuts, including Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan. Harry Styles just announced his highly anticipated, self-titled solo work with the release of his first single "Sign of the Times." He debuted "Ever Since New York," during his performance on SNL. His sound differs from his loud, pop, boy band days, and opts for a piano driven, softer rock.
Expected for release: May 12th
5. Something To Tell You - Haim
It's been four long years since the release of Haim's last album, "Days Are Gone," but the band has been busy writing, recording, and producing their follow up "Something To Tell You." Their newest song "Right Now" was recently released with a music video. From the song, it sounds like Haim is sticking with their brand of rock.
Expected for release: July 7th
6. Melodrama - Lorde
