7 Goals For The Christian Woman

1. Proverbs 31 Characteristics

Even though proverbs 31 discusses the virtuous wife, it lists strong characteristics of being a woman of God. She is trustworthy, hard working, and devoted to everything she does. 31:25-26 is a particular favorite: "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. " Also 31:30-31 is even more important:

"30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
31 Reward her for all she has done.
Let her deeds publicly declare her praise."

As i continue in my relationship with Christ I often look at these verses to remind me to strive for these characteristics and what I hope to ultimately achieve.

2. Don't focus on outward beauty, but focus on being kind, loving, and known for loving God.

Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness. – 1 Timothy 2:9-10

3. Do not Judge others; be humble and understand you are not much better than anyone else.

"“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.2 For you will be treated as you treat others.[a] The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. 3 “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye[c] when you have a log in your own?4 How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye?5 Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye." -- Matthew 7: 1-5

4. Help those who are in need, and do not expect anything in return, and you will be blessed.

" Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. " -- Proverbs 19:17

5. God comes first and foremost in everything in your life.

"37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment. " -- Matthew 22:37-38

6. The next most important thing: You are called to love EVERYONE - not just your family and friends. Every. Single. Person.

A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” -- Matthew 22:39-40

7. Date (or marry) someone who has a love for God just like you.

"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? " -- 2 Corinthians 6:14

I'm currently in a time in my life that makes me realize how much I truly need God. These are my goals that I pray over daily, and I thought I would share them. I'm certain I have left off some very important verses but these are ones that I feel are most applicable to me as a young woman facing college and my future career. If you have a particular verse you would like to share, please comment!

Jeremiah 29:11 "11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
