OK, I know that boating school and college are two different things, but Spongebob is a show loaded with relatable information that is sure to make you feel like you're not alone. Odds are, Spongebob probably knows more about being a struggling college student than you do #sorrynotsorry. Here are some of your favorite sponge's life lessons that you could probably use.
You have to learn to multitask and you’re going like it
You have three papers, two exams, two assignments, and still have to shower and eat. You're going to learn how to do a couple things at once, and you're going to get good at it.
You have to learn to suck up to your professors
You have an A-, but you really need that A or A+ to salvage your GPA. I mean, what's a little sucking up going to hurt?
No one is really ever going to feel bad for you
Everyone's in the same boat as you, no one is going to feel bad that you missed that assignment or stayed up late to study for that exam. However, you feel better knowing you're not alone, and once it's all over you get to celebrate with all your equally stressed friends.
All-nighters are a regular thing
Your best work will be completed at like 2 a.m., you'll study for your toughest exam at 5 a.m., and you're lethargically getting ready for your 8 a.m. Your good grade will thank you later.
You can’t let yourself go
Mom and dad aren't there to tell you to brush your teeth and shower every night. Don't forget to take care of yourself, because your health is more important than anything else.
You’re gonna oversleep
You're going to run into your class 10 minutes late once in a while. You may or may not have a bra on, your makeup will still be on from last night, and you're still wearing your pajama pants and slippers. But you're there, you got to sleep in a little extra, and you won't bug your classmates for notes. It's a win win for everyone.
You have to practice work-ethic
You have to know your potential, and not let yourself sink below that. Don't procrastinate when you know you have ample time to complete and assignment, and don't forget to try your hardest in everything you do.
Spongebob may have never gotten his boating license, but he was always a great student. We could probably learn a thing or two about how to get through our four years while loving life along the way. Look in the mirror, say, "I'm ready!" and kick some a**.
