Have you ever downloaded an app, played it once, and then deleted it right away because you know you’ll be addicted for life? Yeah, I haven’t. I have the unfortunate quality of resilience (or being prone to addiction), so I like to play until I consider myself satisfactory, if not, the best. I’ve become pretty good at a variety of games on my phone. Unfortunately, some of these may have taken over my life at one point during my life. I can only hope these will not do the same to you.
1. 2048
Recommended for you
A simple game involving combining even numbers in order to attain larger numbers such as 2048, this game was an integral part of my high school. Some people somehow managed to obtain 8192! It took me a solid month of nonstop playing just to get 2048! Last month, I got 4096 and I think it was the happiest day of my life.
2. QuizUp
I think everyone has played this game at some point in their lives, but if you need a refresher or just want to reminisce on good times with your friends and this app, then your golden opportunity is here. This app involves trivia and questions in specific or general topics. You compete against random people or your friends for points (and world-renown prestige) in topics you happen to be a savant in. I may or may not have renewed my own addiction for this app recently. I wasn’t even that good. Only top ten in Biology in the nation. NBD.
3. Circle
By the same makers as 2048, this game is probably the worst and best game you’ll ever play. It simply involves moving a circle down a line by tapping, without the edges of the circle touching the line. The only problem? The line changes! It zig zags and becomes uneven so you have to adjust your taps to the line. Also, you can collect diamonds and buy different types of rings, which is cooler than it sounds, trust me.
4. Pancake
Probably the most frustrating game in this lineup, Pancake is a game in which you tap the phone in order to flip a pancake. However, this pancake or maybe the pan it’s in must be ultra-sensitive because everything in how you tap - the amount of pressure, where you tap, the impact - affects how the pancake flips. You get points every time the pancake does a complete flip, which is really hard to do! My current high score is 7. Beat that.
5. Dots
I used to play this game, but now I don’t (often). All you have to do is connect dots of the same color in a specific time frame. The more dots you connect, the more points you get. It sounds boring, but it really isn’t. Plus, the colors of the dots are actually very pretty. ‘
6. ActionPotato
Another game of the semi-past for me, in this game you tap cans (I think they are cans) in order to catch potatoes being thrown. The game is much harder than it sounds. You earn combos by catching multiple potatoes in a row to earn an exponential number of points. It’s a really addicting game that I played for several years. Good times.
