In today's times everything is so expensive, especially when you're a college student just trying to survive. So when date night rolls around and your bank account is crying, what do you do? Here's some date ideas that still provide quality time without putting a hurtin' on your wallet.

1. Go to the park

Parks are a great idea, especially for a first date. It's fun to walk around and take in the scenery. Not to mention the great pictures you can get while there. You'll have a fun time getting to know each other and get some exercise in!

2. Build a blanket fort and have a movie night

Movies theatres are so expensive; the tickets, the candy, and you can't forget the popcorn. Why not make your own movie theatre at home? Better yet, a blanket fort movie theatre. Grab your favorite movies and lots of pillows! Best part? Pajamas aren't frowned upon!

3. Game Night

Most people may not have board games anymore, but if you do dust them off and start playing! It'll not only bring out the competitor in both of you, but it'll keep you entertained for hours! If you have some spare change, go to your local thrift store and see if you can pick up a couple games.

4. Volunteer together

To me, I think this is another great way to get to know each other. Even if you've been dating for a long time, to watch the one you love help others gives you a great feeling. I love volunteering and helping others so I love the idea of doing a date like this. Sure, it's not a traditional date but it is a selfless way to spend time together and you meet some amazing people along the way!

5. Go sledding

In Connecticut, Winter is basically a way of life and no one can avoid it. If you live in a state where snow days occur frequently, go sledding together! It's a great way to bring out the kid in you and climbing up those hills burns some calories. Also, when you're done you get to go home and cuddle while enjoying some hot cocoa.

6. Paint twister

This date idea has always been cool to me, but I have yet to try it! This one requires a little money, unless you have what you need lying around. Grab some red, green, yellow, and blue paint. You don't even need the twister mat, a tarp will do the job. You can even make a spinner or go to this website and they provide one for you! http://wheeldecide.com/wheels/board-games/twister-... Remember, wear all white if you have it and have some fun!

7. Cook comfort foods on a rainy/chilly day

Odds are, you'll have the ingredients in the fridge and cabinets to make some comfort food when the weather isn't looking great outside. Grab grandma's chicken soup recipe or look up something to throw in the crockpot. If you choose a slow cooker meal, read together or even color. Just relax together!

I hope you have as much fun as I will trying these date ideas!

Christmas Tree

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
