Hello Middle Tennessee students, and congrats on the surviving the first week back!
With school starting back up that means more of our time spent in the library and classroom and the emptier our wallets and stomachs become. It's okay, it happens to the best of us. We all know that our MTSU I.D gives us discounts just about everywhere (and if you didn't, you're welcome) but sometimes that's just not enough when you have $5.71 to your name until that refund or payday comes in.
So in the meantime, don't stress about what you are going to do for dinner or not having enough money for a full course meal. I have found some awesome "broke college student" friendly restaurants around Murfreesboro that are more than just a place to eat. They are a place that will make sure we never go hungry or broke when living off of the scraps in our bank account.
Here are the seven best unknown food specials for us broke kids trying to make it out here in these streets. College, I meant college.
1. The Boulevard
Every Monday the boulevard has their menu set at half price with the exception of a few items such as calzones, appetizers, and entrees. But you can get salads, burgers, sandwiches, even pizza, for just about five and change for your meal unless you get yourself a drink too. (And do not forget to tip those ladies.)
2. Slick Pig
Slick pig is just down the street from MTSU, and on Tuesdays they have .99 cent BBQ sandwiches-- super wallet friendly.
3. Bar Louie
Also on Tuesdays Bar Louie, located in The Avenue, has blessed us with $1 BURGER NIGHT! From five-close you can get yourself a good cheesy cheeseburger with a purchase of a beverage.
4. Jeffersons
For all you wing lovers this is for you. Jefferson's offer .65 cent wings or .75 cent boneless wings every Wednesday. If you have not been, I highly advise you to go for their great college atmosphere and enjoy their unique decorations inside!
5. Smoothie King
Smoothie King offers $5 fridays on a few select smoothies! One located here on Middle Tennessee Boulevard and one on Medical Center. I would recommend calling the store before hand and asking what items will be on the deal of day menu.
6. Sams Sports Grill
Located at Stones River Mall, Sam's Sports Grill is definitely college friendly, offering a $2.99 late night menu EVERY NIGHT from 10-1 am. You can get chicken nachos, chips and queso with salsa, pizza, wings, and for my thirsty Thursday people you are in luck because they also have $2-$3 drafts and happy hour everyday of the week.
7. Chuy's
Now I purposely saved this for lucky number seven because if you are like me and had no clue about this deal, I am about to blow your mind. Drum roll please...
OKAY, Chuy's offers a FREE, let me repeat FREE, fully loaded nacho car from 4-7 EVERYDAY! If this didn't make you cry a little bit than reread this section because FREE should definitely be in all of our vocabularies.
