7 Feelings You Have Before Your First Internship

You have an upcoming internship for the summer. What?! You lucky duck! Congratulations! But like with earning a place in any job position, there are definitely some feelings that go with accepting the position. For an internship-- especially if it’s your first one-- these feelings seem to be particularly heightened.

1. Anticipation

It’s your first internship! When is it going to start? The first day can’t come soon enough.

2. Excitement

It’s going to be great! I’m going to learn so many things here, and it’s going to look great on my resume.

3. Nervousness

Yet what happens if I mess up? I don’t want my first internship to be a flop...

4. Adventurousness

Let’s explore everything new out here!! All of the new things!

5. Nostalgia

Remember those times when I didn’t have to worry about getting internships, though?

6. Pride

Look at me, with a big grown-up internship and doing some grown-up things to build my resume… This is really cool.

7. Responsibility

Now… What do I need to do to get ready for it? I don’t want to go into my first day unprepared.

You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
