There is nothing wrong with being adopted or adopting a child. At times, people don't really understand everything that goes into it. It's frequently heard that adopted kids have a "bad past" leading them into an even worse future. The stigma surrounding adopted children is a bad one, and we all know it. But, there are many famous people who have made names for themselves, despite being adopted. Hard work will take you anywhere you want to go, regardless of your background. Just look at these hard working people below.

1. Bill Clinton

Former President Clinton was adopted by his grandparents after his mother became widowed and could not take care of him.

2. Nicole "Snooki" Polozzi

Nicole was adopted when she was six months old by an Italian family. The only thing she knows about her biological past is that she is Chilean.

3. Steve Jobs

Steve was adopted because his parents were unable to have children. Later on, the family adopted another child and Steve had a sister.

4. John Lennon

John was adopted by his aunt after his father went AWOL from serving in the Navy and his mother could not provide adequate care.

5. Nelson Mandela

Nelson's father died at the age of nine. Shortly after, he was adopted by the chief of the Thembu people, Jongintaba Dalindyebo.

6. Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn, born Norma Jeane Mortenson, spent her childhood in foster care. She married her high school boyfriend at 16 to avoid being sent to another foster family.

7. Nicole Richie

Nicole Escobedo moved in with a father's band mate at age three due to financial reasons. The band mate was Lionel Richie. Lionel, and his wife Brenda adopted Nicole six years later when she turned nine.
