1. George Harrison was a car enthusiast.
Out of all the Beatles, Harrison loved cars. He had a gaggle of cars including this Jaguar he's seen posing with and a Mini Cooper that was painted in a similar style to John Lennon's famous Rolls Royce. In his later years, Harrison grew to love formula one racing and was a regular in the European circuits. He loved racing so much that he wrote a song about them called "Faster," which can be heard on his 1979 self titled album, George Harrison.
2. George played violin on All You Need is Love.
When The Beatles were recording "All You Need is Love," George can be heard playing the violin. This was his first experience ever playing a bowed instrument.
3. Frank Sinatra was a George Harrison fan.
Frank Sinatra, the Sultan of Swoon and popular jazz singer fell in love with Harrison's song "Something." He even went as far as to call it the "greatest love song of the past 50 years."
4. Harrison was deported from Germany.
When the early Beatles career has just began to take flight, Harrison was deported from Hamburg, Germany for breaking their immigration rules and working under age. While the other members of the group were 18 and over, Harrison was only 17 at the time. The rest of the group stayed in Germany and kept performing until they were also deported weeks later.
5. Aside from his guitar skills, George Harrison could play 26 instruments.
The wide-variety of instruments can be heard throughout the many solo and Beatles albums that Harrison has appeared on. He could play all of the following: Guitar, Sitar, 4-string Guitar, Arp Bass, Violin, Tamboura, Dobro, Tabla, Organ, Piano, Moog Synthesizer, Harmonica, Autoharp, Glockenspiel, Vibraphone, Xylophone, Claves, African drum, Conga drum, Tympani, Ukulele, Mandolin, Marimba, Bass Guitar, Swordmandel, and Jal-Tarang.
6. On the night of his father's passing, Harrison believed to have seen his Father's spirit.
In 1978, the night Harrison's father, Harold, passed away from cancer both George and his wife Olivia awoke to a blue orb of light floating above them. Harrison believed that this was his father coming to say hello before finally passing.
7. George Harrison composed a soundtrack to a movie.
Harrison composed the score to the 1968 movie, Wonderwall. With the release of the movie's soundtrack, this became Harrison's first album and he became the first Beatle to release a solo album.
