7 Emotions Of A College Girl Explained By Jennifer Lawrence

In college, you could have four exams, three papers, five different sorority functions, two intramural games and multiple TV shows to catch up on, all in one week. AKA in just one week, you go from being overjoyed to overwhelmed to depressed to downright just a mess. Who is the only other woman in the world who can express such emotions accurately? Jennifer Lawrence. Here are seven times her face said it all.

1. Everyone warns you about gaining weight in college, but all you ever crave is food.

Every girl wants nothing more than to have the perfect chest, butt, and flat stomach, but let's be real: a love for food far surpasses that. If you absolutely have to choose between a treadmill or a huge platter of gooey, warm chocolate chip cookies, which of the two is going to bring you more happiness? Cookies. Or there is the option to walk slowly on the treadmill and eat cookies. You can't gain weight eating if you're simultaneously working out, right?

2. Sometimes you forget how to wear a dress because you've worn t-shirts for the past three weeks.

What do you wear when you go to class? T-shirt. What do you wear when your friends are going out to eat? T-shirt. What do you wear to sleep? T-shirt. What do you wear practically every day? T-shirt. When it's cocktail attire and you wear heels, a strapless dress and a real bra, it feels like trying to work a complicated machine. Maybe on the outside you look like you have it all together fashion-wise, but on the inside, you're dying to crawl back into your biggest and most-worn T-shirt.

3. Everyone around you is either in a relationship or engaged, yet you have absolutely no idea how to flirt/ talk to the male species.

There is an undeniable pressure in college to fall in love, date for a couple of years and be engaged before you turn 22. Yet if you are ever approached by a guy, you completely forget what words are and your hands move so awkwardly in an attempt to flirt that he has to take a couple of steps back. Anytime you see a cute couple holding hands while walking to class, you just want to ask them how in the world they did it, since for some reason you can't even manage to ask the guy next to in class what his name is.

4. It seems as though every girl in college took lessons on how to take gorgeous pictures, but you just didn't get the memo.

Which side of your face looks better? Soft smile or full teeth smile? How do some girls manage to look skinnier in pictures? Some girls end up looking like America's Next Top Model in every picture they take, yet you are someone still left behind in the awkward stages and trying to learn how to master a decent face... Cheese?

5. Sometimes life is so busy and overwhelming that your brain just stops functioning the way it's supposed to.

We all have days where we accidentally place our keys in the refrigerator, or bring the wrong textbooks to class, or even realize you have been in the wrong class more than once. And then after all of that happens during the week, the weekend rolls around and your date cancels on you at the last possible second, you lose a shoe somewhere and even though you vow to do homework on Sunday, all you really end up doing is taking a nap and catching up on "Grey's Anatomy." Truthfully, each of us girls has a complete mental breakdown a few times a semester (or a week), and it's all okay because who can possibly function properly as a girl in college anyway?

6. Some days, you just don't like anyone.

Your professors are asking you to turn in a million things, your parents are wondering why you haven't talked to them in weeks, your friends are making plans for you, and all you want to do is lock yourself in your room and lay in bed with zero communication to the outside world. You inevitably end up walking across campus and doing everything you usually would do... except today, you have a facial expression that screams "leave me alone" and yet no one does. And then you hate everyone even more. There is no way to win.

And finally, the time that Jennifer Lawrence most expressed everything a college girl feels...

7. Embarrassment.

You role up to formal with a gorgeous man (maybe not gorgeous, but you found a man and that's win) draped on your arm, an expensive dress and hours worth of makeup and hair. You feel like a complete princess and worthy of everyone's attention. And then... you fall. Or spill something completely down your dress. Or break a heel. The life of a college girl is filled with countless stories of complete and total embarrassment.

So, Jennifer Lawrence, this is a tribute to you. We understand you. You understand us. Thank you for that.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
