7 80s Movies To Watch If You're Having A Bad Day

Need some cheering up? At home sick in bed? Or just looking for something good to watch on TV? Well, you've come to the right place because below is a list of 80s movies that you must watch. People often overlook 80s movies, but I'm here to tell you that they are some of the most amazing movies you'll ever watch. Sure, they can be cheesy, but isn't that kind of the point? I've noticed that it's really easy to relate to most 80s movies, which is why I love them so much! That, and they're funny, filled with cheesy romance, and they just make you feel better. So, for your own good, take the time to watch these movies and know that there are so many more not listed below.

1. Can't Buy Me Love

This is one of my all time favorite movies. The message behind the movie is incredible and I strongly believe that every teenager needs to watch this at some point in their life. It will definitely make you laugh, and you'll end up wishing you had a love story like Cindy Mancini and Ronald Miller. Added bonus: young Patrick Dempsey is the main character... ladies, you can't not watch this movie.

2. The Breakfast Club

This movie basically describes what it's like to be a teenager in high school, so, for all of you high school kids out there, you'd better watch this. It'll definitely make you laugh, and maybe even cry a little bit. And you'll finally understand where a lot of quotes that our parents say come from.

3. Ferris Beuller's Day Off

If you really want to laugh, then you have got to watch this movie asap. This movie is perfect to watch when you're stuck sitting on the couch surrounded by cough medicine and endless amounts of crumpled up tissues.

4. Dirty Dancing

You'll have the time of your life watching this move. This is one of those cheesy, "I want that," kind of movies that just makes you feel good. Though it may not be as humorous as some movies, it's definitely one that I recommend to watch. The overall story line portrays multiple good and relatable messages. And, another added bonus: Patrick Swayze.... that's all I'm going to say.

5. Adventures in Babysitting

Were your plans ruined? Well, so were the main characters from this movie. It is filled with humor and puns that will definitely make you laugh. It's a movie that I highly recommend after a stressful day.

6. The Goonies

Craving a sense of adventure but don't want to leave the safety of the couch? Then this movie is perfect for you. It's filled to the brim with hilarious scenes, jokes, and even some crude humor. This has been one of my favorites since I was a kid, and I used to watch it every time that I was home sick from school.

7. The Karate Kid

Wax on, wax off. Wax on, wax off... Sound familiar? Along with some pretty awesome martial arts, the main character is adorable, which only adds to the quality of this movie. There is a lot of meaning behind the plot and there are definitely some relatable scenes.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
