Christmas is just around the corner and like most college students, I am looking to the DIY style gifts this year (it's cheaper, plus it looks like you actually tried). Here are some ideas I came across while scouring Pinterest while I should have been studying.
1. Homemade Wine Glasses
You can create any design you want in any colors! The perfect gift for any wine connoisseur or drunken sorority girl Check out this website for full instructions on how to make these festive wine glasses!

Tip: Pair it with a nice bottle of wine for an even better gift!
2. Personalized Hot Cocoa Kits
Nothing beats curling up on the couch when it's freezing out and enjoying a nice cup of hot chocolate. How easy is it to put hot cocoa powder, marshmallows and a candy cane in a cup and call it a day! You can even add a touch of customization by buying a ceramic mug and using a Sharpie you can write anything you want on it! Don't forget to bake the mug so the Sharpie stays permanent.
Alternative: Get a mason jar and put all the ingredients in and wrap a bow around it for a quick and easy Christmas gift for anyone!
3. Netflix Binge Kit
After the holiday madness has died down and you're still stuck at your parents place there's only so much you can do before you die of boredom. In this easy and cheap kit all you need is some type of a bowl (I recommend the ones pictured above), a few different candies and a bag of popcorn.
4. Dip Mix Ornaments
I think this is perfect for the older crowds. You can buy any pre-packaged dip mix at the grocery store and Michaels sells these cute little ornaments you can put it in! Give them 1 or 5 but I'm sure this would put a smile on any parents or grandparents face.5. Back to School Kit
What is a better stocking stuffer than a coffee mug, a gift card to a local coffee shop, nail polish and chapstick? This is a perfect gift for parents if they need to give their son or daughter something extra.
6. Homemade Sugar Scrub
This simple at home scrub will have your friends begging for you to make them more! This recipe is found on http://lovegrowswild.com/2013/11/diy-mint-sugar-sc... but here too.
½ cup coconut oil
1½ - 2 cups sugar
1-tablespoon peppermint extract
1-drop green food coloring
Steps:
1. Place coconut oil in a bowl and microwave on HIGH 15-25 seconds until softened.
2. Start by adding 1½ cups sugar to the oil, along with the peppermint extract and green food coloring. Mix until ingredients are well combined and food coloring is evenly distributed. If the mixture is too wet, add another ½ cup sugar until scrub is to desired consistency.
3. Finish your gift by wrapping it in ribbon or twine.
7. The College Sweatshirt
Although this isn't a DIY gift, this is a huge timesaver and if you're not crafty at all it can come in handy. Just take a trip to your local bookstore and purchase a t-shirt, sweatshirt, a hat or even drinkware!Merry Christmas everyone!
