The Seven Easiest Ways To Truly Cleanse

The Seven Easiest Ways To Truly Cleanse

Beginning of spring semester is the ideal time to start to cleanse your body.  Embrace the fresh start with your most beautiful clean self.  To truly cleanse, you must begin in your mind.  The cleansed self is conscious, relaxed, and at peace.

Breathe. Just breathe!?
Yes.  Imagine you are on a strenuous inclined run, huffing and puffing away.  What is that heavy breathing doing for you?  It is oxygenating your blood as efficiently as possible.  Increasing blood flow and getting fresh oxygenated blood all over the body.  You are also releasing more carbon dioxide, which cleanses the lymphatic system.  Now imagine breathing like this just sitting in a comfortable seated position.  Try closing your eyes and breathing strenuously for a good 20 breaths.  Notice how you feel.  You should feel lighter, rejuvenated, and relaxed.  #yoga.  The cleansing and stress relieving benefits of yoga involve moving with breath; one breath per movement.

Try it! Just breathe deeply! Release endorphins in your seat and breathe those toxins away!

Water.
Our bodies are 70% water.  Drinking water naturally relieves headaches, leads to replenished and younger looking skin, helps digestion, less cramps and sprains, less likely to get sick, and relieves fatigue- to name a few benefits.  You gotta flush out your system with something.  Let a nice tall glass of water do the trick.  Your body can survive 3-5 days without water, and 30-40 days without food as long as it is properly hydrated.  Your body cleanses from the bottom up.  Starting in your colon.  Get all that flour and water glue constipated gunk out- stay hydrated by drinking at least 8 cups of water a day and eat fresh fruits and veggies (naturally high water content foods).  Flour and water make glue (gunking up your colon) animal products are devoid of any fiber (gunking up your colon).  Rejuvenate: drink up!

Eat Cleansing Foods.
What are cleansing foods?  Foods that naturally work with your boy to help it function at its finest; providing ample vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to rid the body of disease, powerfully fighting off infection without the use of medication, and sweeping out the digestive tract getting the system back on track to leave your body feeling balanced and energized.  I think you can see where I’m going with this.. fresh fruits and vegetables!   Leafy greens the wholest of whole grains, clean proteins.  You betcha.  People know how to eat healthily by now.  Why don’t they?  The difficulty in developing a totally appropriate diet is not the food itself, but our relationship to food.

Movement.
Exercising raises body temperature and supply of oxygen, double whammy!  Just moving around; walking, jumping and dancing are great ways to get your lymphatic system flowing and release toxins throughout your body.

Skin Brushing. Exfoliate.
Exciting the nervous system and brushing or exfoliating away the dead skin cells increases blood flow to the skin and the normal process of releasing toxins through perspiration is improved.  Also, stimulated nerves activate muscle fibers and improve muscle tone.  This is particularly beneficial to people who have lost weight and are looking to tighten up sagging skin. One of the most important of the benefits is massaging the skin with a brush, combined with exercise, speeds up the flow of lymph and directly contributes to a stronger immune system and healthier body.  Also, eliminating dead skin and unclogging its pores results in a noticeable decrease in odor, the appearance of the skin also improves as new cells form more quickly, and the skin takes on a smoother luster that is noticeable brighter than the dull appearance of old, dry and often wrinkled skin.

Sweat.
Deep sweating can be done in a sauna.  Heat causes blood vessels to dilate, causing increased blood flow.  Not to mention, sweating flushes out toxins through the skin with water.  Sweat rinses bacteria out of the epidermal layer and sweat ducts.

Avoid caffeine, sugar, and processed packaged foods as much as possible.
These only add to the problem of putting toxins and other impurities into the body.  And of course do not drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes.

You know more than you think you do (especially after reading this article) about how to take care of your body.  No excuses!  At this point it is just a matter of deciding whether or not you think you are worth it put yourself and our health first for a change.  Without your health, what do you have?  Be thankful for the health you were blessed with.  Cleanse.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
