As a senior in college, I have picked up a few things when it comes to being a college student and figuring out how to feed myself. Here's a list of things that I am sure most students can relate to:

1. Leftovers

It's okay to not eat everything when you go out every once in a while. It's better to have 2 meals that are $5.99, than one meal that's $12 (even though they aren't always the greatest reheated). Basically, you're saving money.

2. Homework on the table is acceptable.

We've all been there. Just try not to get any food stains on the paper.

3. It's okay for cereal to be all 3 meals (including dessert).

Conveniency is the name of the game, especially when zooming from class to class.

4. Speaking loudly to get your point across.

With so many rambunctious and loud people in the caf, it would be almost rude to speak softly.

5. Late night TBR's are common.

If you have any doubts about why 24-hour fast food exists, between studying for midterms and finals, you gotta have something to get you through those late nights. Plus, you get to keep some quality memories for years to come.

6. Never assume someone else is paying (even when dating).

It's safe to assume most everyone is broke, and as lovely as it is for us girls to be taken out, we gotta cut the guys some slack.

7. Always accept free food.

Let's face it, food always tastes better when you don't have to pay. If there's one thing to take from this, ALWAYS accept food when someone offers it to you.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
