I used to give my dad so much crap for wearing these, and now I'm looking up how to wear the pair I just ordered.

It's no secret that the '90s are back. Maybe it's because "Friends" is so widely loved that trying to emulate Monica and Rachel's styles was inevitable, or maybe it's because people actually think that bike shorts, mini dresses and crop tops are new trends.

Regardless of where it started, we're seeing a surge in a number of old trends — namely chunky white kicks that go with pretty much everything.

So, If you're in need of some '90s "dad sneakers" to go with your vintage mom jeans or are looking for a way to modernize a classic, here are seven different ways to wear your new favorite shoes every day of the week.

1. Paired with a feminine mini dress

Adding a more athletic-looking shoe to feminine piece is a great way to add a fun edge to softer look. It also adds an aspect of functionality to the look, giving you versatility.

2. With a slouchy sweater and un-hemmed baggy jeans

Honestly this will probably be my go-to look. Your favorite sweater and mom jeans combo with the addition of your new sneakers is a timeless, yet tried and true style that anyone can pull off.

3. Adding dimension to the layered slip dress

Another take on 'the tennis shoes with a dress' look, try a pairing a longer dress with your sneaks to give the illusion of added height. Add a loose-fitting T-shirt underneath or a cami on top for added dimension.

4. With your favorite over-sized T-shirt and shorts

Obviously the big shirt and short, shorts look is not a new invention, but it's easy to modernize just so much that it looks effortless and carefree instead of careless. Adding the chunky sneakers gives you a throwback vibe that's sure to add interest.

5. With a spaghetti strap tank and baggy jeans

Another look that both Rachel and Monica would definitely approve of. The tank and jeans combo is a great way to flatter your natural shape, and the shoes enhance it with a little extra height.

6. For dressing down your favorite slip skirt

Another style that I'll be attempting to replicate soon. Pair your favorite slip skirt with some chunky sneakers to take this outfit from dressy to eye-catchingly casual.

7. With an over-sized sweatshirt and chunky sneaks

A much-loved variation of look no. 4. Seriously, if you feel like channeling total '90s vibes, grab your most trusted sweatshirt, a pair of bike shorts and a scrunchie and just go with it. If Princess Diana wore it, you know it's a look.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
