November is an important month, especially with an election this year. It marks the month that begins the holiday season. But the days leading up to Thanksgiving can drag on forever if you don't have something to celebrate. So, I put together a list of National Days to enjoy before the month is over!

1. National Sundae Day

November 11th mark the national day to scoop your favorite flavors and cover it in all the chocolate syrup and whip cream your little heart desires. Celebrate this day with a hot fudge or banana split, maybe even both! Even though November is the month where the weather starts getting colder, there's no reason you can't enjoy a summertime dessert like a Sundae.

2. World Kindness Day

November 13th is the day to give an extra hug to someone you love, smile a little brighter, and compliment a stranger. This day actually started from a series of conferences in Japan in 1997 by a group known as the World Kindness Movement. Although you should live your live everyday with kindness, this day represents a specific time when you should really emphasize it.

3. National Go For A Ride Day

November 22nd is the day to enjoy the journey and not the destination. This celebration started as early as 1904 to mark a day to bike, cars, and other mode of transportation. So take out your skates or your snowmobile and ride where you please on this day!

4. National Adoption Day

Usually celebrated on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, many families remember this day as an anniversary of their families joining together. It wasn't until 2006 that all on the 50 states recognized this as a National day. Child agency organizations use this day to raise awareness to the children who need adoption and recognize the families who have already adopted.

5. Cake Day

November 26th doesn't have to be your birthday to enjoy some delicious cake! Luckily, this holiday has been around since ancient Greece. The description of cake has clearly changed of the centuries, but back then it resembled something like baklava or other honey based desserts. On this day, you can celebrate by baking your own cake or picking out your favorite one behind the glass case at the bakery.

6. French Toast Day

Wake up on November 28th and make yourself one of the best breakfast foods! French toast is good with syrup, whip cream, fruits, or even as a side for a larger breakfast. Have fun with your breakfast that morning and open up a bar of different choices for your french toast adventures.

7. Bonus: Novel Writing Month

Every writer is challenged in November to write every single day, resulting in a novel at the end of the month. Many magazines and online writing journals open up contests just for this month. Even though November has already started, it's not too late to begin writing ever day.

Okay, so most of these are food related, but that's not a problem! November is a month full of celebration! So, besides Thanksgiving, try to celebrate at least one of these national days--especially World Kindness Day.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
