7 Creative Halloween Group Costumes

Halloween is here, yet we don't have school off for it. Why? It's just like any other holiday that's celebrated, so what it's celebrated at night... but I digress. You may be in a situation that you were something you need a costume, or maybe you thought of a cool costume at the wrong time. But anyway, here's a list of some cool group costume ideas.

1. Evolution of a celebrity.

So many celebrities go through different looks. Take Miley Cyrus, she's gone through many iconic looks. Just have everyone in your group pick a different look and you're set.

2. The Inside Out emotions.

Not many people do this as it's a small group. But sometimes, that's better for picking a costume. All you need is five people to be joy, sadness, anger, disgust, and fear. You don't even need to have three girls, and one guy, you can easily gender bend the emotions.

3. TV Show inspired costumes.

All you need for this is to think of a TV show most of your group enjoys, and go from there. Some TV shows are easier than others, though. If you would decide to do a TV show like Friends, New Girl, or Parks and Rec, all you would really need to do is raid your closet to find a costume. But if went along the route of Stranger Things, you may need to buy some things from the store. You could even do an old TV show from your childhood, like Drake & Josh, that have recognizable costumes. Some people also like to take inspiration from Halloween episodes of shows, and wear the Halloween costumes that the characters in the show wore.

4. Star Wars

This can involve as many people as you want. You can go for a small group, such as only doing the Skywalkers: Luke, Leia, Darth Vadar/Anakin, and Padme. Or, you could open it up to all the movies and include people ranging from Luke to an Ewok from Episode 6.

5. The Snapchat filters.

Snapchat has seen various face filters, the most iconic being the dog. So, have everyone in your group pick their favorite filter and make sure that you look like it.

6. Emojis

Everyone uses emojis so often, and there's so many to choose from. just pick your favorite to dress up as. Some emojis even have plush pillows you can buy to add to your costume.

7. A Halloween Movie group.

As it is Halloween, you could pick a Halloween movie, and dress as the characters. Take Hocus Pocus, for example, you could dress up as the Sanderson sisters, Max, Dani, and Allison.

Regardless of what you do, make sure that you communicate what costume everyone is wearing. You wouldn't want to end up having a How I Met Your Mother, where they wanted to be The Breakfast Club group, but all showed up dressed as Bender as no one claimed a character.

"I put a spell on you, and now you're mine." -Hocus Pocus

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues.
