If you can't go a day without a cup of coffee (or several cups) and you have a mug collection that takes up considerable cabinet space, you are probably a coffee lover. You might need your fix as soon as you wake up or later in the day to combat that afternoon slump. Either way, let's face it, you may have a small addiction. Here are seven things most coffee lovers can relate to, whether we want to admit it or not.
1. You find that you bribe yourself with coffee.
Have a paper due that you're really dreading? If you work on it for 45 minutes, you can reward yourself with coffee. Don't wanna wake up early? At least you can treat yourself to a coffee. I don't know about you, but that's a reward system I can get behind.
You might find yourself doing this in order to get you daily chores done. But hey, if it works, why change it?
2. The first cup is always the best cup.
Nothing says good morning like the smell (and taste) of a cup of coffee. The first cup is the one that will wake you up and give you motivation to start the day. There's no shame in needing to drink a cup before entering the real world.
3. There's nothing better than finding a new coffee shop.
Coffee shops are a great place to hangout and study or to spend an afternoon. When you find a new one, it's hard not to fall in love with it. Each coffee shop is unique in its theme, decor, and ambiance, which is why it's always fun to find a new one to explore and enjoy.
4. You bond with people over your love for caffeine.
"You're obsessed with Dunkin too??" is the line that has started friendships everywhere. Finding someone that likes coffee as much as you is great because it gives you another person to enjoy it with. Also, there's always the chance that when they make a coffee run, they'll pick something up for you too.
5. You don't want to think about how much money you spend on coffee in a week.
Why is it so expensive?
If you thought about it and looked at your bank account, you would probably shudder at how much of your paycheck goes toward coffee.
But then again, it's essential, so what can you do?
6. Trying a new drink is like unwrapping presents at Christmas.
Really, it's that exciting. You hope you'll like it, but you have no idea what to expect. It could be your new favorite, or something you want to immediately spit out. You've probably given all the seasonal Starbucks drinks a try, because how can you pass that up?
7. Sometimes you get carried away.
There's probably been a time or two where you've had a cup too late at night and it's kept you up for a while. Or, when you get too jittery to actually get anything accomplished. Nonetheless, you plan to start the cycle over again as soon as you wake up.
