Especially if you're a book worm like me...

If you're anything like me, you love to stick your nose in a book. Even though I don't have as much time as I used to have, I still love to open up the pages and breathe in the scent of the paper.Yeah, paper, not an electronic book on your iPad or Nook. Getting lost in a book is one of the best feelings ever. Here are some of my favorite books that maybe you can get stuck in!

1. A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown

This is a memoir that you will never forget. I picked up the book thinking it would be a cute little book about baking. Boy, was I wrong. It tells about so many struggles and hard times that one person went through all before she turned 21. I would recommend you have a mature understanding of life before you read this one though.

2. Hate List by Jennifer Brown

This book made me so emotional. I don't want to spoil it, but it is about a girl and her boyfriend that make a list of people that they hate. The boyfriend then takes the next step to this list too far, but I won't go more into details to ruin it all for you.

3. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

Yet another emotional book. Look, I like emotional books, okay? This book is about the things and messages a girl left behind after she commits suicide. Such a good read if you like emotional books like me.

4. The Wake Trilogy: Wake; Fade; Gone by Lisa McMann

This trilogy I read twice. In a short summary, it's about a girl that is sucked into people's dreams against her will. This girl has a rough home life also, so it is extra stress on her. It's a blessing and a curse.

5. Beautiful Disaster; Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

These books are more of a twisted love story. In this story a bad boy and good girl fall in love, but who doesn't love that kind of book? That really explains these books for you.

6. The Program; The Treatment by Suzanne Young

These books were seriously so hard to put down. It is basically about suicide being an epidemic and the rest of society is out to change people completely. Once someone starts having signs, they are sent to the program where they forget everything they ever knew to start over. You will have to read it to find out the rest!

7. Looking for Alaska by John Green

This book just made me angry, and you will have to read it to know why. It is basically about a group of friends and their adventures at a boarding school.

Now I know a lot of people aren't into reading like I am, but why not just try it out? You will probably love these picks because I have great taste in books. I am a bit biased, but it's true.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
