Confession: it has taken me quite some time to admit that I am, indeed, a shopaholic. I'm all for retail therapy and may even get the slightest rush when I find a killer deal on a fashion staple. Seriously, bought a jean jacket for 20 bucks and to celebrate, I did a victory dance around the store...it happens, okay. You'd be lying to yourself if you said you didn't do it too.

Recently, I have been shopping at boutiques. While exploring each unique shop, I realized that boutiques have more benefits than shopping at a chain retail store.

Here are seven bombshell benefits you'll get from shopping at boutiques:

1. They have good quality material.

I'll be the first to admit that I love shopping at places like Forever 21, H&M, and Charlotte Russe. Yet, I am not a fan of the quality of their clothes. Some of the material shrivels up or falls apart faster than a shopaholic's willpower at a sale. At boutiques, this issue doesn't exist. You can rest assured that you are purchasing lifelong pieces for your wardrobe.

2. They have great sales.

Recently, I went to a boutique named Moxie Cloth and they had 75 percent off summer sale. Every shopaholic's dream, right? You could say I bought a thing or two...or five. Okay, so I spent $80 bucks while I was there...you should've seen what I saved though. It was a total bargain. You'd be surprised to see that boutiques have sales more often than you think.

3. The clothing is one-of-a-kind.

You won't constantly see others owning the same shirt or dress that you purchased from boutiques. They have a variety of styles ranging from boho chic to classic to even 90's grunge. Why wear the same outfit as everyone to blend in when you were born to stand out?

4. You may get some bubbly.

That is if you're at least 21-years-old. How pristine would you feel browsing through clothes at a boutique while sipping on some bubbly? Pinkies up, my friends. You don't get this kind of service at every other store.

5.You're supporting small businesses.

Some boutique owners invest their lives into their store. Why not help them while they help you with some amazing styles and designs? It's a done deal.

6. You have a unique experience.

I understand that some people don't like being bothered while shopping. However, you're missing out on a fun experience. I've had the stylists of boutiques push me out of my comfort zone by having me try on pieces that I did not like on the hanger. The stylists at Moxie Cloth are no exception.

7. You'll become a trendsetter.

While meandering through the boutique, your eyes may narrow in on a must-have. For me, it was a black, sleek tutu skirt. Yes, you read that right. It was love at first sight. It was flirty, fun, and unique. Must I say more? Everyone will be asking where you got your piece.

So fashionistas, are you ready to make a statement at your nearest boutique?

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."
