Christmas break is our time to finally relax without having any looming assignments to procrastinate. I like to spend my break glued to the couch, only getting up to rummage through the kitchen for anything edible or to relieve my bladder.

For the first few days I was at my parents' house, I was relishing in the cable TV I'd been deprived of while at college, but the commercials were just too much for my attention span, so I reverted back to my old friend Netflix.

If you're spending your Christmas break vegging out and eating all of your parents' food feeling like there's nothing to watch, check out these binge-worthy shows on Netflix. If you don't have Netflix, get Netflix.

Black Mirror

Let's start off with a bang and talk about the greatest series of stand-alone episodes that will make you question everything. If you're the type of person who spends entire shows and movies accurately predicting the plot, I dare you to try and predict these story lines -- because you won't be able to. Similar to the old TV show "The Twilight Zone," each episode explores techno-paranoia and will leave you speechless. My favorite episodes are Nosedive, White Bear and a San Junipero.

Disclaimer: The first episode is very...odd. Also, I wouldn't recommend for younger audiences, as some episodes contain swearing, sex scenes and nudity.

How to Get Away with Murder

This show came out in 2014 but we started it just a few nights ago and my mom and I are obsessed. This drama is fast-paced and is the easiest to binge watch, whether you want to or not. Each episode dives deeper into the intertwining lives of the characters that you just can't stop hitting "next episode." If you like watching badass lawyers win cases with a whole lot of drama and suspense thrown in the mix, this is your show.

Disclaimer: Not the show for your conservative grandmother.

Gilmore Girls

If you haven't already watched every episode on TV and practically grown up with Rory, now is your chance because Netflix has blessed us with the entire series ready to be binge watched. Watching this single mom and her brainy daughter will have you saying, "lol, same" as you follow them through life and its hardships. Once you've finished this witty series, start on "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," the Netflix revival of your favorite relatable series.

Fuller House

Did you ever wonder what happened to the Tanner family from "Full House"? You can find out what they're all up to thanks to Netflix bringing us "Fuller House." Grab your favorite comfort food and binge watch this feel-good series, and keep an eye out for Season Three!

Disclaimer: Michelle Tanner not included.

Gossip Girl

I've seen the series more times than I'd like to admit, but I just never get tired of watching rich teenagers with their scandals and love triangles. Who does B end up with? Can Dan and Little J survive in the Upper East Side? What really happened while S was away at boarding school? And who the hell is Gossip Girl???

Disclaimer: Do not google ANYTHING about the show or you will spoil the entire thing for yourself on accident.

Stranger Things

Another Netflix original that has captured audiences and forced them to binge watch the entire series. Inspired by the 1980s era of science fiction thrillers, a mother desperately investigates the disappearance of her son and stumbles upon scary mysteries along the way involving supernatural forces and unheard of government experiments.

Disclaimer: Do not watch late at night if you're home alone.

Jessica Jones

Marvel superhero turned personal investigator Jessica Campbell Jones Cage spends her days in a lonely haze. She picks up PI jobs to make ends meet and feed her alcohol needs while struggling with the PTSD she has from her past. You'll definitely get sucked into this dark story.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
